Game not loading for pc

Issue Description:
i press launch on steam and the game isnt loading i get nothing after pressing launch

i deleted and re installed changed to administrator and back for both launcher.exe and darktide.exe ive restarted my pc

Hey TopShop, please could you try this?:

Delete Darktide AppData & Verify Integrity of Game Files

NOTE: This will reset any custom keybindings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Launch Darktide as normal

You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and will ensure the installation is complete.

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

NOTE: If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the error to resurface. You can disable Steam Cloud Saving for Darktide via the Steam client by:

  1. Navigate to your Steam library
  2. Right-click Darktide
  3. Select ‘Properties’
  4. On the ‘General’ tab, scroll down to ‘Steam Cloud’
  5. Disable ‘Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’

yep tried deleting the appdata and have tried verifying integrity of the game files still nothing

also turned off cloud saving

issue still persists tried everything recommended to me more than 3 times

I’ve shared this with our Launcher Developers as it seems to stall prior to the launcher being displayed. I hope to have an answer for you soon.

Could you please:

  1. Attempt to start Darktide as normal
  2. Open the Task Manager
  3. Kill the process GPUDetection.exe

Afterwards, a new darktide_launcher.log should be produced. Could you upload it here please?

hi managed to get it working had to delete something called gpu_detection.dll

just loaded in and I don’t have the free character customization that you realised with the update though I defiantly played before the 17th but couldn’t log on before today because of the issue I’ve been having

This is interesting - it shouldn’t have been there, so it’s something we’re looking in to!
