It comes without saying that the priorities should be addressed first as I pointed out in one of my previous posts:
… and as you can see in fact P3 has the highest priority
and although your ven diagram looks nice its relatively meaningless.
most people arent very bright at all and have zero clue what they “want”. hence we have stories like king midas and for aesop’s fables it is inevitably the moral. being in the minority can be more clear thinking about the issue or it can mean you are way out in left field without a clue. and fatshark just wants a good game that can print them money but evidently isnt any more sure than the majority or minority of what exactly constitutes a good game but assuredly whatever they decide on will no longer be a massive money printing machine. that cow has left the barn, never to return.
i rather suspect that p1 is what you want done, p3 is what you disagree with, and p2 is a wag (wild a$$ guess) because id bet the farm fatshark has an understanding that things arent going right but has no clue where they went wrong, what to do to fix it, or any idea of how to get there.
i see your diagram as fluff and will continue to do so until you can
1: define what is in p1-3
2: offer some statistics to support your position for those definitions
and since i dont think you can do 2 then 1 is just your opinion wrapped up and presented as a “royal we” to lend it weight.
im not trying to be negative. im just saying that is a bit like saying “dont forget to breath”
Oh I love those its already dead each year and every time its just crying
i am a pretty careful reader and i cant ever remember the devs saying that.
ive played in plenty of games with microtransactions. often in game currency is used for all transactions in-game. usually, but not always that in-game currency can also be purchased for real money. so you can grind deeds or whatever to get shillings or you could just plop out 5 euro to get X amount of shillings.
although its possible that there is a tiered system of in game items you can only get via shillings and another tier you can only get via real money ----id bet that you can buy shillings with real money too or else you remove an incentive for people to spend money and thats not a particularly wise thing for a company selling products to do…
@endrsgm
Take all the polls from this forum, reddit and steam. Go through 50,000 posts and note what are the players asking for. And then, make a poll that will pop up when you launch the game so that every player can see it and fill it if he/she wishes so. Reach out to streamers and community members, ask them to invite as many players as possible to those polls. Take 3 top things that the players are asking from all that data, make a cross reference with Fat Shark’s 3 top things that they want. Now that’s your P1.
So you see, I’m not subjective or arrogant player who puts his own wishes as P1. I’m simply asking for a mass poll/vote, the biggest so far so we can get as much data as possible.
Regarding the “you don’t know what you really need” philosophy, or “what you want vs what you need”.
If most people aren’t very bright at all and have zero clue what they “want", well fuc.k it, then we deserve to lose this wonderful game and let it be butchered by bad decisions.
the survey as you enter the game is an excellent idea.
i dont think a stream or even this forum is representative of ‘most’ players but an in-game survey (if offering sufficient real choices) would be.
i agree that I’d rather people have an input vs no input.
Does thst include FS? I surely think there are people there, so the argument is irrelevant, because its people making a game to be liked and bought by other people. I think its safe to leave the people thing out of the equation and stop assuming FS is infallible.
Skip to 52:20 for “no shillings for cash”. Plenty of good information in that stream actually.
I missed this bit. tyvm.
The last 30 or so posts in this thread are utterly depressing.
Maybe I’ve just become so adapted to the issues that I no longer see them as problems and more of some distorted sense of “normal”.
I don’t really know. This game is still my favorite currently and I have way more fun playing it than I do other titles.
I will say that the strife this game endures isn’t that uncommon anymore. I’ve been playing a lot of Modern Warfare over the past week and that game has more than enough problems. And that’s a triple A title with a gargantuan budget and a massive development team. There are major issues that still haven’t been addressed a full week after release and the game has a profound lack of content right now. And it had a “beta” about a month ago as well. Very little changed before release (not surprising at all).
Just for some perspective. It seems like it’s just the way gaming is nowadays to some degree.
what’s crazy about all this 'what ppl want" talk and diagrams is, and im willing to bet: THERE ARE VERY FEW PPL WHO CARE FOR WEAVES. like why is that even a thing? it was a fun gimmick for our A.D.D. for a week tops. there should be no resources dedicated to that any further. i cant fathom why there are seasons and marketing for a “competitive” scene in weaves.
You’re not paying attention to the right things. These posts are common in every game ever, but the usual response to them has changed.
Pre 2.0: “No, it’s not dying, it has a small but dedicated player base!”
After 2.0: “Yeah, it’s dying, I’m just getting what I can out of it before it’s gone.”
How most people see the game has changed, and not for the better.
Just had a fairly horrid half an hour attempting to play. Bad Luck RNG f*cked me.
Joined first game as Bardin, arrived as WHC Salty. God Sake. Elf host died to weird assassin jump and quit as host. Oh Joy.
Second game, joined as Bardin, arrived as Bardin - YAY - Dark omens map going ok. Got to the end and got Banner spanked into a trench and then stabbed up by sh*tty running hits and died. Blood Pressure rising.
Third game, Athel Lenui, cruising ok, got hooked and dragged directly towards a gunner. I get pulverised while Hook-Rat shrugs off bullets like Iron Man. Intense Fury, Quit.
There doesn’t need to be in-depth analysis of this whole thing with graphs, diagrams, Steam chart numbers. Just fix the broken, buggy, rage-inducing game. It’s been 18 months since launch FFS. Someone at FS offices needs to stop being such a Wet Flannel and grab the whole thing by the scruff of the neck, stop accepting poor quality and fix the effing thing. I mean Christ.
Alright, very annoying bug. Should have been fixed like three times…
Jump might have been a bug, sometimes those assassins can be wonky indeed. The real problem there is the ragequit however, which isn’t a bug but rather shitty player behavior.
No bugs there. All part of the game. Unlucky, but it happens sometimes.
No bug either. Specials killed you, as they do. That’s the game.
In the end it mainly comes down to this:
That’s just what Vermintide is… You play as well as you can, and sometimes you make a wrong call and get ended by unlucky circumstances. Not sure what you really want here…
I generally have a similar experience lately when I play, @Argonaut14. I try to play a few games for the sheer joy of bashing rats and beasts and filthy cultists, and my games will be going fine, I’ll be having a blast - and then something occurs that just totally wrecks my fun. Often, it is a bug. Sometimes it will be bad RNG or I’ll just screw up. When it’s me, it’s frustrating, but I’ll be ready to jump back in . . . But if I’ve already lost multiple runs where I was doing everything right and the game robbed me because of straight-up broken crap . . . I just feel like “what’s the point? I’ll probably just get robbed again another way”.
I’ve been so dispirited that I haven’t even booted up for the holiday event yet. I love the dark maps, they’re often a straight-up improvement over the baseline maps. But man . . . I’m just really not feeling it right now.
And I’ve been a staunch lover the game since before it came out. I got multiple friends to buy in and play. I’ve gone months playing a game or two every single day.
I’ve been wondering how Fatshark can “retain” me as a player, and personally . . . They need to show that they’re breaking their bad habits. They need to stop bringing back old bugs with every major update. They need to cater to their fans a bit more. I’ve still got some hope for Season 2, though even that’s a bit bitter because I don’t give two bits about Weaves.
What I would like to see (and I may have even said it earlier in this thread, right now I really can’t recall and I’m too lazy to go check) is more regular content. It doesn’t have to be massive things. One month bring us a new potion or something. A single new special the month after that, to shake things up. Next month a new kind of healing item or Engineering item. Some small things that give new interest to gameplay, but (hopefully) aren’t that hard for them. Do this, while they continue to fix the current bugs, improve QoL features, and work on bigger DLC drops. That will actually make me excited again.
@TmanDW Although there are times when it is entirely my fault I died, by getting cornered or simply sucking up an overhead I should’ve avoided there are far more times when I just died to infuriating stuff. The running stabs by the Ungors aren’t a bug, but it is maddening when you’re getting hit and all you see is a spear tip shoot through some other enemy to stab you. It’s worse when you can’t even see the ungors and just get two or three hits in a horde for what appears to be no reason.
In my earlier example the hookrat should’ve been killed by the gunner I think before I got killed, although specials do kill you - that’s what they’re there for.
I am just really fed up with it and @BizarreSalp 's quote I opened with is where I’m at. I don’t mind dying because I did something daft, but when there are multiple runs that just feel so unjust it turns people away from the game. QP groups UK time I’m seeing the same names more often - people who aren’t in my Friends list but I play so often with them in QP and I’m getting to learn their names. This suggests the pool of players is getting quite small pretty fast.
This is something I feel needs to be quoted for emphasis.
A more regular trickle of slight additions that shake up gameplay would not require a lot of manpower, it would keep people coming back more regularly and give people the feeling that the game is “growing” even without paying extra, which results in better reviews that entice more people on the fence to buy it, keeping the playercount up.
But all of that requires a stable base game that doesn’t frustrate players, and that seems more and more unlikely to ever be achieved for V2 past this point.
I quit at the begin of August but seems every thing still run in the same way . After buying wom I lost it
(I mean the will to keep playing) but you guys are way more masochist than me
. Jokes apart, makes me wonder (mix of) who/what is the culprit of FS way of working.
Guess it works like Vermintide, we need some aging before having something working properly.
I think point here is that since 2.0 assassin are fu… again. And there is a lot of insta jumping again.
The running attacks are completely busted, plus look ridiculous. It wasn’t like that pre 2.0.
They did, but it is indeed stupid, that rat without any armor or anything, getting blasted by minigun, doesn’t give a fu*k at all.
I see all those things @Argonaut14 mentioned as bugs/issues and most of them were not present in 1.6 and all of em are indeed frustrating and that is not what one wants as developer, people getting pissed 3-5-10 times a gaming session and dropping the game.
I share this feeling since, everytime I play the game now, I could write down list of bugs/issues, and I do get rekt because of this one or that one, unless I got strong pre-made group.
