When loading into a map and someone tries joining, the loading time becomes immensely longer when someone tries joining. Even with connectivity set to “nearest” it still tries to pair the host with people who live half the world away making the load times extremely long. It has never been this bad in the past. What’s going on? Did some server update make it so the load times are just super long now? Because in the time that I can load into a game i can see 8-10 people join and leave while I’m stuck with a black screen. If i try and load up a game with a single person or people near me it’s not so bad. But the thing is the game still tries to pair us up with the “nearest” person playing. If that person happens to be accross the world then that’s the “nearest” it’ll get. Which makes no sense because it entirely defeats the purpose of it. If we can’t fix the connectivity issues can we at least let the player choose who they play with? Not only are higher ping players making load times longer they also make the game harder because of their lag and dying.
it seems even with people with green ping it still takes forever to load some people. It could be people’s machines, but thing is it has never been this bad in the past, i can only guess that more people are logging on since it’s the holidays and it’s overwhelming their servers (albeit this started before the holidays). It’s still extremely annoying since one person can load forever while people wait in lobby and the only fix is for people to leave and the host to restart their game. Hardly a workaround since there’s also a glitch where a slot in the party permanently is stuck loading when someone leaves during mission select causing the group to have to restart. I’ve disbanded many a good group because of this glitch and now it just seems to only be getting worse.
