FS Marketing Manager Statements regarding Arbites MTX

Clown makeup? I also don’t buy the dumb $5 helmets.

People behind monetization in this game have no soul with how much they’re gouging their loyal players

you gotta think of how limited the supply is of those pixels. they don’t have unlimited flag = true’s around.

Funny how it’s a PR puff piece when it doesn’t suit your preferred FS can do no wrong narrative, but it’s still good enough for you to hype empty marketing drivel up on reddit as “OMG NEW CLASSES CONFIRMED” as if it’s big news. As if that’s something entirely unexpected. We all know that we’ll get more classes, since it makes them money. We have yet to see if it’ll take them another 1-2 years for he next one.

Your hypocracy when it comes to running defense for them is the reason people make clown make up jokes and consider it monumental when you critique Fatshark.

It is absolutely big news. We didn’t have any indication that we’d ever get even one new class until Arbites. And now, before the dust has even settled on Arbites, we know there will be more.

And yea, it’s a pretty empty PR puff piece other than that bit of news.

This is so wrong that I won’t even comment on it. You’re insane.

Please show me any communications where FS said new classes were in development.

Also Google hypocrisy while you’re at it.

Edit: because obviously you’ll use the “class every quarter” bit, which anyone arguing in good faith would acknowledge was referring to what we ended up getting nearly a year after that with the talent trees, I don’t count that. Feel free to disagree.

All the texts that they’d planned to release a new class every quarter? Yes I know that they alledgedly rolled a lot of those into the class overhaul. But they never said they’d stop releasing new classes. Given your standards of inferring what you want that should be proof enough.

Look at you preemtively trying to dismantle or reframe a fact just to suit your needs. Any breath is honestly wasted on you, and the reaction to your posts proves me right tbh

So you think they had planned Arbites-level content for every quarter? Beyond belief. Lol

It’s been almost 3 years since the Classes In Darktide post. As many, including you I’m pretty sure, have pointed out: much of the code for the “classes” we got rolled into talent trees, a year after that post, was in the code at launch.

I don’t believe you actually believe that FS meant they’d be releasing a fully-new class, anywhere near the level of Arbites (or even 1/3 of Arbites), on a quarterly basis. Their track record doesn’t speak to anywhere near that speed of development. But beyond that, I don’t think there’s any developer who can work at that pace.

It’s clear that the classes referred to before launch were the half-finished ones we got eventually in the talent trees (a year later).

And then we got nothing for 1.5 years. No word on future classes coming. Nothing. Folks seem pretty happy about the news, and pretty surprised. I know I was/am.

Now you’re moving the goalpost. First it was “no classes released” now it’s “no classes released at this level”.

Their track record doesn’t speak to anywhere near that speed of development. But beyond that, I don’t think there’s any developer who can work at that pace

That wasn’t the question at hand, you’re trying to establish a loaded comparison here. There’s literally a studio across the street that managed to deliver steady streams of content at a very regular pace. Is it as in depth as a class drop? No, but FS isn’t even capable to drop a single new weapon in a remotely fast enough pace to be able to use the term ‘live service’ by the most common meaning of the word. So if we take that into account your argument is basically a wet fart in the wind.

I fail to understand why you’re so adamant about trying to defuse every single valid criticism of fatshark by desperately trying to reframe it with something positive. I’d ask you if you have stocks invested but they aren’t even public.

I’m not defusing anything, and I’m not moving any goal posts.

I believe you are arguing in bad faith. I believe you know that the classes they were taking about before launch is what we got a year later in the talent trees. Period.

And I know you know we didn’t hear a peep about any other classes beyond that between launch and the announcement of Arbites.

Belief certainly is what keeps you going FS strongest soldier

Enjoy the next DLC, which you’ll blindly buy on day one despite believing that the game is getting worse with each update and FS is growing more and more evil every day!

Oh totally, like how I didn’t jump to play Arbites after they biffed it with the universal cosmetics.

I’m totally taking partial credit for them walking that back btw.

If you need to sell slop at such a high price to keep working on the game then you already failed because not enough people saw value on the game itself, but honestly I think it’s just a lie. Also, “live service” lol.

Sometimes there’s something cool on the shop but the prices scare me away, the company itself with it’s stupid anticonsumer practices scares me away from giving them money.

Also, there are no regional prices for the shop. I’m on a third world country and you are trying to sell me at the same price cosmetics that people on the first world are complaining that are too expensive.

Speaking of fair value, I was surprised to see that we got regional prices for the arbites dlc, 7.49 for the class, 12 for the deluxe edition.
So 4 weapon skins, a skin for the dog, and a complete set for the character for 4,50 usd. That’s an okay price-value, it’s DRG kind of price-value. Meanwhile, fs also wants me to pay like 15$ for a set on the shop. F-off

I was thinking about this. I’m against things like the FOMO shop as a matter of principle.

But, like most people, I’m willing to set aside my principles to get something I want … but not if it costs twice as much as I feel it should.

Virtue is cheap when violating it is expensive.

At the time, “class” meant the equivalent to a class in Vermintide, eg 15 talents grouped together as a class along with a unique blitz and ability.

The class tree rework was essentially the equivalent of releasing eight new classes all at once, and even more so because you could move and hybridize between them. Arbiter character/archetype is the equivalent to another three+ “classes” worth of talents and such.

The “new class every quarter” argument just needs to be dropped at this point. It’s silly and no longer a pertinent argument.

It’s a confusion of terminology as well. In the game code “veteran” is an archetype. “squad_leader” is a class within the veteran archetype.

I really don’t get the cosmetics shop hate whale’s are funding your free content but I suppose you still want to look good in first person perspective… are the complaints really from whale purchasers or a vain player pool that wants to look good for low cost to free and damn any new content drops?

Maybe we need a new poll but not sure how to word it or what to look for…
