Framerate dropped from 80+ to 15ish with Redemption patch

Issue Type (Required):

Performance

Issue Description (Required):

Patch seems to have absolutely tanked performances on my machine.

Before patch, no matter what the game threw at me, I’d still get a solid framerate (50-80 depending on how crazy things went with VFX)

Post patch, I’m lucky to get 30 outside of combat.
Combat drops to mid to low tens of FPS

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

Yes, and I’ve tried disabling them

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

Steam (PC)

I’m having the same issue. My game also ran pretty much fine until this most recent update. I’m kinda scared because I don’t see too many people getting this same issue and that might not motivate Fatshark to fix this

My guess would be the shaders.

For some machines, the rebuilding of the shaders takes a mission or two and then performance should come back.

God forbid it stays past the rebuilding of the shaders…

If it’s not the shaders, have your graphic settings stayed the same? Cuz mine haven’t.

Graphic settings stayed the same.
I wasn’t pushing it before, but I still have a very good machine.

I’ve played a few games, but sub15 fps is unplayable.

I’m playing an Action game, not a swedish VN :joy:

Yikes.

Past the obvious of “check file integrity / try a reinstall”, I wouldn’t know what to do either.

Haven’t been as far as re-install, but might be worth.
My friends have also noticed a performance dip, though not as sharp as mine.

Game is unplayable and I don’t seem to find any solutions online…
Is it time to pester FS support?

On mine, it persevered long past a couple games and after the rebuilding of the shaders.

What’s strange is that, at first, I had no issues at all from the update. Then, out of the blue, the game would load fine, then within a minute, I’d be hitting 1 fps. I never had any issues before this… and it’s 1 fps, then a few frames fine, then 1 fps.

Also, I get an error code 3013 from the servers. This is after verifying the integrity of files, reinstall, updating graphics drivers, and I don’t have any mods.

you could try run on the experimental branch and then upload a log and i will take a look. We added some stall warnings to it so perhaps if you have stalls we will see that.

for just bad performance it might not help. You can also try see if disabling dstorage helps or not

This is something we investigating now why we still generate pso’s in runtime. The idea is that the shader cache generation before launch should fix this for you.

When looking at logs (and when testing locally) there is alot of pso’s generated that should been cached already.

you can try the same thing as instructed here
