Some days ago I mentioned some optimization issues and a potential temporary work around with low fps. Then and even now, one of the options is to use FSR rather than DLSS which does improve FPS better, even on an Nvidia card such as mine (3080). Yesterday I found a different …thing people can try. So far with the few games I have played since using it seems to work better - still not a substitution for better game optimization by the devs (please, its not our job to fix your product). Said option is to update the DLSS version. I was testing this for Hogs Legacy and through it found that DT DLLS version is … not the newest so to say so I updated that too via DLSS Swapper (GitHub - beeradmoore/dlss-swapper). I used the 2.5.1.0 version up from 2.3 (if I remember correctly) and that improved the overall performance with the Quality preset. Hordes still drop fps a bit, but it not that noticeable anymore, and the drops are limited to these moments rather than everywhere on the map just because the game decides you should not be having fun.
I am running this on the test experimental branch, and other than the DLSS version, the rest of the graphical settings have been untouched from before I applied the new version.
Again, please bear in mind that this is only an idea that I myself am still testing as I have only played a handful of games once applying that “fix”, but it is potentially something that the devs can also look into.
