Flames is crazy now! The patch read like is a buff for us. But plays like a nerf

Yea let’s burn lead

Not true. It’s one wound or 25% of health, whichever is bigger.

Right, just don’t get hurt and simply noclip through the pack of maulers if you are hard-pressed.

Does it have to be heavy metal, though?
He doesn’t want to set a world on fire, he just wants to start a flame in your heart… https://youtu.be/TmIwm5RElRs?si=9GZKi2u-nfSMmSqJ

Oh. True. Alright. Mistake acknowledged.
Point stands, though. Those boosters are not all offensive.

It’s not exactly hard to snipe the low HP bomber or dodge his projectile. Honest.
If you get caught in the fire, you already messed up three times.

  1. Didn’t kill glowy peepeepoopoo man.
  2. Positioned in a disadvantageous spot.
  3. Allowed peepeepoopoo man to rain on you and didn’t move out of the way.

Don’t let the stinky boi unzip his pants. That’s all there is to it. Always helps assuming stinky boi is hiding out somewhere.

More of a romantic guy I see.

Glad someone picked up on it, blame Fallout radio!

FR though, just had multiple downs in multiple matches to double bomber twin throws; it’s a bit much.

Situational awareness is lacking in most groups, even for pinged mobs, and now it gets punished 3x as hard.
TIP: avoid Hab Dreyko if you’re pugging it in a mediocre team.

Alright, after experiencing fire damage on Damnation I’m inclined to agree that the damage is rather absurd. I know that Fatshark has admitted as much, so I eagerly await the damage tuning patch!

Have the Dev’s acknowledged this bug yet? The game is near unplayable in the current state.

Stacked specials is a bit of a problem. You can’t rely on normal breakpoints, just keep double or triple tapping.

I just alt F4’d because of this. 3 rounds in a row a grenade lands behind me, I barely step in it, I lose 120 toughness and 99% of my health. It’s absurd. I literally can’t emotionally handle it. Gonna not play until they address it. SO MANY good games out there that don’t do this kind of crap.

That’s fine and good mostly though final wound visual filter can make you second guess. It being a little more distinct wouldn’t hurt especially considering colour blind people exist and all.

Right, let’s pretend multiple people in the same thread didn’t tell you that there are a lot of situations where bombers throw their nades from across half the map while being completely inaccessible to weapon fire. Let’s also pretend that you are free to move wherever you want 100% of the time.

You seem to miss the point completely. I don’t mind being punished for my mistakes. Mistakes do happen, especially in intense fights. What I’m not happy about is that the punishment for a single mistake utterly annihilates me, even though, normally, I’m pretty damn hard to kill, considering my EHP pool. There are no other mistakes in the game that punish you that hard. I don’t ask to remove the damage from the fire, it should be there, and it should be considerable, otherwise, the area denial won’t work. I ask to make it reasonable and in line with the rest of the game.

The purpose of the bomber is area denial. They were already high-priority targets even before the patch. After the patch, they are straight-up the most dangerous enemies in the game. Right now, no enemy has higher DPS than bombers.

Flamers can do about the same DPS, but at least they have to be relatively close and usually in line of sight.

I was thinking about colorblind people when i was writing that, not sure what they can do, if tox flamers weren’t a thing, making the fire green would be my go to, blue is also an option. That second part wasn’t a solution to colorblind people, just to the normal visual clarity, i assume they have a colorblind mode.

what bug? isnt there a flamer behind you? it doesnt give me audio in this view.

Its not even situational awareness because bombers can lob out of LOS while you are in a pack of 8 crushers, cant exactly move them as you please without an Ogryn charge or Vet shout and even then they get knocked over you cant exactly jump over them.

Yeah this is just garbage the play with. Look i get the whole “oh they have good sound ques and they got low hp, they are supposed to be dangerous” but often times when you have that plus a horde plus shooters plus the game decides to spawn 2-3 bombers so they just end up carpet bombing a room making the whole thing into a no-go zone. The only time i can reasonably survive fire even when touching it for a second or so is when icon is active.

Right now it’s silly AF when you have enemies that can blanket literally an entire zone in insta death fire (which is one more thing enemies don’t care about at all) while getting rushed by 3-4 crushers / maulers that you NEED to pay attention too or die to that.

Combine that with the game’s often bugged audio cues and you get a recipe for frustration. TBH im less mad about the flamers, i think their initial damage should be high but the burn procs for ground damage need tuned down. If there was an initial explosion damage + a damage tick that ramped up then sure but right now you just get harshly punished even if you do take out the 3 bombers in a reasonable time because one happened to get a grenade off.

It is possible to take them apart, but it usually takes me a second. I don’t have that time, especially considering fire damage, so I usually dodge out of any flame as fast as possible and then check afterwards. In fact, I find it easier to recognize Zealot flame grenades by the shape of their flames.

Good point. I think they should double down on that slight shape difference and add some sparkles or something.

Aye. There could be a trapper bearing down on me while the team is fighting a boss and a crusher patrol, if I see a Bomber, that one has to go first.

Just finished a Refinery Delta and after the last event the corridor to the exit was simply on fire.

3 dead in that last 50 meters of the game.

I have no clue why this isnt the case, Gas rats only throw when in LoS, they also didnt slow, not sure why they felt that needed to be changed. The special design they crafted in VT2 was near perfect, they should just fallback to that

Interesting how peoples’ memory of VT2’s apparently flawless in retrospect mechanics has changed with time. Sure looking pretty rose tinted to me.
