I think the only time the gas rat threw without line of sight was when it was within a certain distance of a player. All those over the fence throws in Tower of Magnus and Righteous Stand.
I played VT2 for over a thousand hours from its initial beta and I cannot begin to count the number of times gas was thrown at the team from a position nobody could see because the gas rat thought it saw the top of Saltz’ hat or something. Maybe it’s very consistent these days but LoS is something I specifically remember personally seeing gasrats ignore countless times over my play sessions with that game.
Between the high damage, high DPS, and slowed movement speed, the new fire is crippling, even oppressive.
On Damnation, if a grenade goes off near you, you’re dead. Even Ogyrns will die instantly. The damage is just too high, you don’t have time to react, and even if you’re on the edge of the fire, that initial stun lock paired with slowed movement speeds essentially guarantees your death every time.
Either get rid of the stun lock and slow down or cut that damage down in half.
The fire specials are really overclocked right now, they’re almost like mini bosses.
Not either they should be doing both, bombers shouldnt need all those effects. Creating a big fire area that hurts a bit is all they really need to do. Not sure why FS didnt just keep them like gas rats.

I don’t often complain about patch changes, but how you guys let this out on to live is a mystery to me. Did you not test it in any way? I can’t see how you could have played a few games and thought it worked.
I don’t think they test, or if they do, they don’t go above Malice.
You know they aren’t pushing that out anytime soon, check back next tuesday. They call them hotfixes but dont actually hotfix anything its just a 2 week bug fix patch.
INB4 they go on vacation and it doesn’t get addressed till the new year.
Please fix this now. High intensity is unplayable without a expert team, flamers and bombers just insta kill you.
This is an actual legit complaint for once. The fire is now outta control. Many times, even if you see the bomber throwing the bomb, you can’t run fast enough to get outta the blast radius unharmed. Also, the flamers can now light the entire screen up with flames from across the map. Visibility is now a HUGE issue. I wouldn’t mind it if the AI director had like 75% less chance to spawn a bomber/flamer, but right now several flamers and bombers will come in unison.

Nope, hotfix is an out-of-line patch or update to fix an issue. The fact that they put out a “hotfix” 2 weeks after the problem starts is not a hotfix, its a bug patch.
I can share the actual definition if you would like: a small piece of code developed to correct a major software bug or fault and released as quickly as possible
Quickly as possible would have been same day or next day, adjusting the numbers down and doing a larger passover in 2 weeks with better adjustments.

I literally feel the exact same way. flames were fine as the were it was an unnecessary game breaking tweek for no reason. I’m not sure why they did it at all honestly.
