boob armor isn’t absurd at all, does it direct blows inward? yes all you have to do is reinforce that weakspot and you’re good. clearly they didn’t think it to be unusable because of the inward curvature
not only that but we know that armor wasn’t purely pragmatic, they liked to show of

And in an order that has to be female and arose as such, it makes total sense that they would try to reflect that in their armor.

I bet that top armour was for show/parade by someone high ranking.
Why bother making it heavier to reinforce for the sake of cosmetics when you could have a lighter more functional one
i mean you can think that, but there are many depictions of warriors wearing lorica musculata in battlefield scenarios.
you are correct tho that armor like that is a status symbol and a common soldier would think twice in investing into unnecessary glamour (still some probably did anyway)
Helldivers 2 has distinct male and female models, and no boobs.

The interesting part to me is that it is obvious that they can have different models for male and female. they’re not forced to make them all in one mold. they just choose not to. on the image the same top has the female model wearing a bra and then confusingly having pectoral muscles like a guy.

One of the less discussed armor type that I think is the closest to “boob plate” is the narrow waist plate. It was made for sex appeal because man with narrow waist was considered sexy (manly).
It’s certain boob plate would have been a thing if female knights would have existed in large numbers.

no idea how cheap they are, but i guess that adia would charge them more if they had to make the skins for 2 different models. so fatshark prefers to order only for 1 model (and even that one has clipping issues)
