Fatshark's Silence is Deafening

Did the devs happen to find the missing half of the game during these ‘discussions’?

I know that this is not your fault as a CM, but seriously… there is no endgame motivation whatsoever, it’s just RNG with no real meaning behind it to bother with really.

Just want to say. The community was quick to create quality of life features such as checking loot shop and missions outside of game while Fatshark neglected their fans.

Honestly even without a better weapon progression end game, moving a quarter or half of the cosmetic shop items as some kind of end game objectives (NOT penances, but more like complete certain number of missions, use this weapon certain amount of times etc etc.) would have provided a lot more incentive for way more people to keep playing (not everyone obviously, but lots of people do care about cosmetics so it would be something).

If they allowed for modding the community would also have fixed most UI and QOL issues within a few weeks, but there are reasons why they did not this time.

That right there is why I was very scared of losing community mods. Modders enriched my Vermintide 2 experience with amazing quality of life features such as the bot mod and UI features.

I think it would reassure a lot of people if you could at least provide an update that correctly identifies the general problems people have, and thus acknowledges them. The first major community update y’all did failed to correctly identify the community’s issues.

It should not require any meetings to issue a community post that correctly identifies and acknowledges the specific issues the community has, because you wouldn’t have to promise any specific solutions or implementations. As it stands, your communication strategy is so vague and noncommittal, the community is losing faith that fat shark actually knows what is wrong with their game.

Im surprised that anyone within the company thought the current progression system was fun and enjoyable, specially the silo inventory system.

or releasing an unfinished crafting… or the way the cash shop is with no good cosmetics for players that PAID for a game.

The fact you are having discussions NOW about that sort of things is VERY worrying.

The reason was the move to official servers, correct? Wouldn’t be a lot harder to implement mods that way, and wasn’t that something people asked for VT 2?

Having mods for dedicated servers is not some futuristic rocket science tech. Even 15 years ago you would have dedicated servers that’d simply download the require mods during the loading screen or denominated mods in the server browser.
That’s simply a very lazy excuse.

Not to mention that the dedicated servers we have right now are far from what you’d consider ‘regular’. We have no server info, no server ping, hell not even a server browser. It’s the most maliciously compliant implementation of servers you could think of.

It also feels like this developer isn’t taking its community seriously. I mean you’re having private discussions without at least involving your community so we can identify together the issues and solutions. It’ll suck if they come up with a worse solution to the problems everyone has with Darktide.

I agree I especially would have liked to see a server browser, and that servers can have mods, but it is an additional thing that has to be added. I’m no coder or game developer so I don’t know the specifics of how easy or hard it is, it’s just what FS said.

No offense to you but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Words are cheap.

VT2 would be literally dead if not for the modders. It wouldn’t survive long enough for FS to even think about making Chaos Wastes. The insulting part is, they knew from VT2 that these were very sought after features, and, I dunno, reverse-engineered DT just to make sure they’re not implemented AGAIN.

Boy I sure do love mealy-mouthed corpo speak. It really makes me feel like my feedback is actually being listened to and not just entirely ignored in favor of focusing on what to monetize next.

There’s fact, fiction and corporate “communication”, where it’s important to say as little as possible to be held accountable to as little as possible, do it in a way so no one notices and gets manipulated into believing you said something you actually didn’t say directly, and make it so everything is answered as vaguely as possible with the subject closed, so as not to risk any scrutiny.

I’d say wait until official announcement. If it is corpo speak I’ll be fully with you. However as naive as it might be I’m still holding out hope that it will at least be somewhat what we are looking for.

It is Corpo speak, come on man, don’t let this developer insult you like this. Exercise some dignity here.

How many times

I played VT 2 for about 30ish hours at launch, and came back a few years later. I never followed the development of it but I heard that the WoM dlc was horrible. Am I rrally holding out hope for nothing?
