I love you guys, but this is a bad joke. Scoreboard is apparently toxic, and doesn’t promote teamwork. Yet almost every character has penances, which result in people ignoring the teamwork all together for sake of some cosmetics. Yesterday I had a guy who suicided himself through the whole game length so he could exploit the system and get an achievement. Multiple other people over the last week alone.
Yeah… I agree.
I believe that most penances are meant to get done as a team - because they are fairly difficult solo.
Like going out with a bang as Psyker, since that one was mentioned here. If you do it as a team, have an ogryn go in first, if you spot a horde of 3 or more elites and have the other poke them down a little bit while you’re working on your heat… it’s fairly easy.
But when pugs try to get such sh*t done in matchaking games, it just annoys the f**k out of everyone. Especially because due to the lack of communication - it doesn’t even work out as intended most of the time.
I don’t think they accounted for the fact, that most games will not be played by full pre-made teams.
I simply like stats, my V2 screenshot folder is full of scoreboard pictures where we did badly and well.
Oh yes, I will judge someone if they play with us and don’t stay together when required, but I honesly couldn’t care less where they are at the scoreboard. Luckly for us, in 90% of cases we play with people we know.

team play of itself is not absolutely positive thing for the game, because it makes your game experience depend on random people.
so having it is fine, pushing it with evry bit of the game is not imo.
in tide games teamplay covers only defensive aspect of the game btw. in offensive side of the game players more getting in the way of each other.
and that is just a lie. over one thousand hours and more in v2 i have NEVER seen someone rant after seeing scoreboard.
if someone wasn’t happy with team performance they just usually leave.
if you so concerned about toxicity, remove voice and text chat(toxic) from your game. and then remove crouching, because people will start teabagging(toxic) each other and so one.
basically dont do online game(very toxic).
and specially don’t do online game(toxic again) with such heavy lean on team play(also toxic) and then add achievement system that goes against team play(even more toxic now).
All I know is this, without a Scoreboard and a full crafting system soon, I’m dropping the game, along with a lot of other players. The game will be “dead” in the waters pretty soon.
All the worst development decisions they could make for this kind of game they did, that alone deserves an achievement, since it’s their THIRD Tide game.
To encourage teamplay there should be added plenty of things, not removed.
. First, communication options, like pregame and aftergame lobby. How there can be a teamwork if people have only 60 seconds for “discussing” the strategy and the results, and aren’t able to replay if necessary, without searching each other in steam to rebuild the team? (If you want people to communicate, communication should be not only possible but also easy to do).
. More options to communicate through the battle: less random lore phrases, more controlled fast messages. The team voices should be clearly recognizable in battle. For now, I even can’t recognize that my character is speaking. Using text chat isn’t the way for such active gameplay.
There should be more obvious cooperative tactics. I don’t see any except shielded ogryn catch bullets or a daemon host. There is a classical MMORPG team (tank and DD’s of three types), but I hardly see the situations where they can work together effectively. Enemies most of the time are everywhere, so there is no way you can hide behind an ogryn, and even more in narrow places this ogryn just close the firing line, so you became limited.
. I am speaking mostly about random teams because it’s the easiest way to play if you don’t have friends who play. I you have a team you won’t have any issues in inventing and playing any tactics.
