Fatshark please give us some information on Vermintide 2's future

At this point I take anything from the community managers as official, Julia and Lev actually share more information whether intentionally or not than the actual blog posts

They still can officially state smth on March 8th. That will more than anything else serve as a sign of support of the game by devs on its 3d anniversary.

Hey. Hey. Hey! Nurgloth went live on the 24th of March. So we cant just say we got the last map a year ago… yet.

And on the 25th it will be the no new map in a full year day! What a marvellous one that will be.

We might get the first batch of CW (if they do release it in bits like they did Drachenfels) before the 25th.
@fatshark, please prove him wrong.

Right!? It’s mind boggling how simple this level of communication should be.

Been playing the Outriders demo and while it’s not shaping up to be half the game Vermintide is, the way they’ve been communicating with the playerbase in a damn demo is absolutely night and day to how FS does things. It’s honestly unbelievable how amateurish this level of community management is.

How can you be ostensibly reading this space, Reddit, etc and seemingly have no read on the general mood at all. Why on earth are people combing through Steam forum posts to get scraps of information while we get a tone deaf, completely unhelpful anniversary post.

I don’t care how immature or unpleasant you think the community is, those flames are being actively fanned by FS all the damn time (yes by “actively” I include the decision to give no info at all, that’s a choice they’ve clearly made for some impenetrable reason).

I love V2 but as soon as nioh 2 came out on pc I haven’t touched vermintide. I told myself “this will tide me over while I wait for that uber cool expansion chaos wates!”. Let me just say that I’m glad nioh 2 has alot of content as chaos wastes is starting to look like elden ring. Speaking of elden ring those leaks reinvigorated my dying hype. I just hope fatshark will reinvigorate my hype for chaos wastes.

Yuppers and PS players are still waiting for crash fixes and Xbox still hasn’t gotten the bot fixes

To be honest, I’m less interested in chaos wastes and this anniversary than I am in the sociological angle, if and how this will affect Darktide’s reception.

I started late in v1’s lifespan so I had no idea that things were like this until v2, and my circle of friends are going to be waiting a few months to see if Darktide even works. I can’t imagine we are the only ones, especially with how things are going as of late.

You have to weigh it against that game’s hype machine, which seems mostly positive so far. I’m not doomsaying or apologizing or whatever, it’s just interesting to observe the chaos right now.

I think they’ve been giving us updates on the expansion and future content through Franz Lohner’s Chronicle. Once Kerillians new class and the expansion comes out I’ll know if I’m right or wrong. And I don’t think that I’m the only one who might think this.

You ought to be happy for that, bots became worse xd

-…Sure they do not randomly waste so much healing but their fighting skills took a nosedive, particularly against bosses.

Yeah er, it won’t.

Lesson learned in VT1 were completely ignored for VT2. Bugs from week 1 are still here 3 years later.

Gunplay in Darktide will lure in FPS people a lot more and the setting is magnificent, but if I see videos after launch of phantom overheads, bugged attacks, broken talents or whatever I’ll hold off giving FS my money. There’s also something like 1 million people who brought VT2 and were p*55ed off pretty fast with the red drop rate, hats and crafting. Those people are likely to be cautious about getting their fingers burned again.

I’m a die hard fan of VT2, but even I’m not blinkered enough to think Darktide is somehow going to be launched in a great state with relatively minor bugs to iron out. Getting things right first time isn’t in FS’s playbook.

I have flashbacks of the “Trust FS with DT dev. thread”, but I’m not getting drawn into this again

Yeah if only it was 1/10th as polished as L4D2 was.

Or if it had the developers of DRG?

Been playing DRG lately, those devs seem to get it right. Regular content updates, roadmaps that they actually stick to, quick bug fixes and tons of character customization options…

Honestly my hype for Darktide died down a bit when I saw the gameplay footage. Seeing the 2hh having the exact same attack patterns as in v2 really gave me the impression that it’ll be just a reskin :frowning:

Shiet, i have not watched any yet and this was one of the things i worried about.

Will darktide just get a discount vt melee + guns? And all the bugs&other issue´s? I´ve got trust issue’s.

Nothing wrong with reusing assets, 2HH is a “feel good” weapon imo.
A lot of people love V2s melee combat after all.

There’s still a lot to know about Darktide, the trailer showed off various mechanics and gave a lot of room for speculation and theory crafting.

I’ve probably watched the trailer upwards of 20, maybe 30 times… I’m still wrapping my head around it.

I can’t imagine that it could be worse, they already go down like a sack of potatoes against bosses post OCE

During horde situations or bosses alone?

If i am not mistaken then prior to the bot update they could actually handle lone bosses pretty well, waystalker bot with piercing arrow could actually solo a rat ogre pretty quickly for instance.

Dodge game on point.

But after that update they just try to block the slam attacks and get wrecked.

Nope. Just bosses, they are SOL. Have to burn or they are useless

They dont give updates on development because they know they cant keep their deadlines. Cw shouldve dropped 2020 with a third expansion this year and dont even get me started on versus or their early roadmap. I respect developers and the skill it takes to get such projects made but FS has dropped the ball really hard on supporting this game. And its not really the huge content droughts that really irk me but the seeming lack of direction, focus and consistency. Not a single long term plan worked out for them so far wich is really sad. There are far smaller teams out there that have figured out how to keep their playerbase engaged and the game fresh but after years of development on v1 and v2 FS doesnt seem to be any wiser…
