Yes, the proof i would want would have to be proof, not completely made up interactions that don’t exist. To anyones best knowledge, Fatshark does not interact with the Nexus whatsoever.
Sorry, I just don’t like when people make stuff up. Misinfo is worth clearing up.
To reiterate, Nexus deletes stuff is if they either deem it against their TOS or if they act on user reports. Technically developers can ask them to delete stuff too but Fatshark devs explicitly stated they’re hands off and let the community self-regulate.
As such, if you want a mod gone, your best way to handle it is reporting it to the nexus yourself. If the report has merit, they may act on it.
Just because you are not privvy to certain informations
and don’t have contact with people, which take part in these interactions,
doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen or that it’s misinformation.
What’d I do now? Are you sure you’re not me? I am you, as you are me, as we are all together.
Are we digging up the same old nonsense excuses and made-up “proof” to support our favorite cheaty mods?
“On Nexus therefore FS approved” wishful thinking?
Well MY 3rd super duper secret contact at FS says they hate all the cheaty mods, but since they are unaffiliated with Nexus in anyvway, it’s up to us to report the mods there.
Obviously Fatshark will quickly take down cheaty mods!
Meanwhile. The mod author going “I totally wasn’t able to take advantage of this that much so it’s fine!” doesn’t magically make it not incredibly beneficial to anybody who knows how to use the additional info.
EDIT: Just for clarity’s sake, I have nothing against general modding, but people acting like Fatshark and Nexus have some sort of constant conversation is silly. Stuff like the above obviously didn’t gain a ton of traction but that doesn’t suddenly make it okay. Since it requires the people who see something like that to also not view it as a problem to even get it looked at…
I think the “Fatshark approves of all nexus mods” is discredited heavily also by how strict their VT2 sanctioning process was. 99% of the mods on the nexus wouldn’t even be considered. I’m not saying that’s a good thing, just that it’s clear Fatsharks own criteria are not applied to the Nexus.
I mean it’s discredited solely by the fact that Nexus has nothing to do with Fatshark and is purely a hosting service.
Anyone who thinks that there’s a vetting process on Nexus is disconnected from reality and has no idea how basic modding works. Nexus is not sitting there vetting the hundreds/thousands of mods that come through their site daily for the hundreds of games on it.
I was trying to be slightly tactful about it but to be blunt it’s just straight up ignorant to think Fatshark is sitting there vetting every mod or something.
FWIW (IIRC) the “well it’s on Nexus so it means it’s approved” excuses was used on the modder’s discord as well by a couple of the more prominent modders and moderators on the modder’s discord, so there’s that.
if fatshark cared about the mod they would have asked you to take it down
