Fatshark on the communcations offensive!?

If they can keep up this level of honesty and transparency, we’re onto an upward trend at last. This kind of devblog, where they tell us what the plans are, and actually give us a window in which feedback could theoretically reach them in time, is such a welcome change.

I’ll say two things;

  • Credit where it’s due. They’ve been doing the right thing for the past few days.
  • It’s only worth celebrating if they can keep it up after the summer. Their track record isn’t good, but change is always possible. We’ll have to wait and see.

I’d like to be optimistic but I’m too shook. Someone hold me ever so gently and tell me things’ll be alright, please.

I’m not entirely sure this isn’t damage limitation after that Spanish Inquisition ( :wink: - the one with the soft cushions )

If it keeps up and feedback is acknowledged, this is a massive W. But again, I’ll keep my expectations where they are for now.

BIG energy, rolling into this itemization update and (almost definitely) a PS5 launch after summer! Hope they keep it up! I want more of everything: dev blogs, regular comms, in-game events (new one starts tomorrow), etc. etc.

If they keep this up, Darktide has a much brighter future, this week has been great for the game I think.

Let’s not celebrate just yet. What matters is the result, meaning if our feedback is even taken into consideration towards development. It’s one thing to communicate it’s another to have our voice heard by letting it have an impact on development.

The only reason we got an update is that some Spanish news feed accidentally leaked all of progress they had with crafting:

Its beyond hilarious they claimed it was outdated content and now they hastily create an official preview of the new crafting system with the exact same images and features in the Spanish leak.

Fatshark is decaying faster then the Emperor at this point.

Probably just a PR mis-timing, it’s not like they hadn’t warned us a dev blog was incoming…

That said, while appreciating the current comms streak, I still have room for skepticism.

If you see the top of the article, they edited the article a day later after FS called them in a panic.

They even rushed to get a CH to “accidentally delete it instead of archiving it”.

I saw the original images when they were up, and they’re still in the thread you linked. They’re different from what’s in the announcement. What that means, and if 3DJuegos was working with the same information as we have now or not, is entirely speculation.

They’re probably going to give a few more pieces of information that are steps in a good direction, then go radio silent over the summer vacation that they’re taking because no one is there working.

A gap of two days when we have months of radio silence is incredibly telling. And those images are identical.
