The gear upgrading system really needs some sort of consistency because as much as I don’t mind an RNG grind for cool loot its annoying as hell not being able to really get anything even remotely close to something you want to try for a build. Even if you do check the shop every hour trying to find it for weeks…
And you can’t even really grind for cool loot because you don’t even get drops every game and the shop a lot of the time doesn’t even sell anything you would even use let alone actually want!
It’s boring enough having so few impactful feats on a class as well as not even being able to customize your playstyle by using a weapon of your choice with even the starting blessing you want. It wouldn’t even need to be a perfect weapon roll or high tier perks just let us actually have fun with it. It is meant to be a game after all not a part time job.
EDIT: I just noticed after posting this that Hedge was replying in a different thread regarding this subject so at least it actually has been acknowledged.
I played a fair bit of combat shotgun before turfing it for agrip braced. It also staggers like mad, while killing stuff. Better ammo economy. More range, deals with armor, guns down specials and bosses. His ult is also awesome with it, free rending. Combat is a joke vs that. Also an amazing weapon vs the true threat of this game, ranged trash. The Zealot psynergy is real.
Did you consider that item lvl in vermintide and darktide work completely different from each other?
And did you consider that you did not need nearly as much time to get good at darktide as you needed in vermintide, since they are similar games, combat wise?
I dont agree with op. Tide series were never about the end game. Having a fully replayable game was always the end game imho.
Main issue with dt is its stability and performance. Those who get constant 60 + fps, are very lucky. As for me, i wont be playing this until they optimise their own product.
I am eagerly awaiting the “I was wrong, you were right”
Since we now know that the Crafting system will not fix the RNG gear progression system, kindly acknowledged by a Dev - which incidentally means that their statement: We only allow 1 perk reroll is correct, that we won’t get ways to increase stat weights of weapons nor base rating increase when the crafting system is fully implemented come the end of December.
Item level in V2 is directly related to damage. In darktide, it is not.
According to your own statement, you took a while to reliably clear legend book runs, but you did clear legend runs and you played on cataclysm difficulty.
Considering how similar the two games are gameplay wise, would you not expect that your experience in vermintide would make any difficulty setting in darktide much easier for you than it would be for a player who is new to the tide series?
One could almost say that you are comparing yourself (an experienced tide player) to players who have no tide experience at all, since the difficulty settings are made objectively and not subjectively for you.
I am not saying that there should not be any higher difficulty settings than there currently are. I am saying that the way you compared the difficulty settings of the two games, in the statement i initially replied to, doesn’t make a lot of sense because when getting into V2, you were far less experienced at this kind of game than you are now.
