Mighty kind of you to worry about their finances. Until updates stop or layoffs start, I’m not worried about how many MTX they may or may not be selling. Especially when they’re on the record saying things are going well.
I just don’t buy the “there must be some shady stuff going on” line of thinking. It’s based on nothing but some idea that some companies are built on selling user data. Yea, no duh. But FS? Don’t buy it.

Darktide sold probably around 2 million to 4 million copies, though I can’t dig up the data these predictions are supposedly based on.
That’s a gross of 80-160 million minimum, and doesn’t count stuff like Microsoft paying them to put the game on Gamepass, cosmetics sales, or DLC.
Assuming that a third of their money is profit after taxes or whatever, that’s still enough cash to keep the lights on for a significant amount of time, and that’s, again, assuming the absolute bare minimum. And given how many people wear shop cosmetics and were playing arbites, it’s really unlikely that that bare minimum is what we’re getting. Every single Arbite is another $15-20 in Fatshark’s pocket, ditto every single time you see someone wearing a shop outfit of any kind.
If the lobbies I saw at peak reflect anything like the reality of the player base, rough estimate of total players versus concurrent players, Fatshark made several million off of Arbites alone, and an absolutely absurd amount of money over time with cosmetics.
We’re getting bare minimun from them tho…
And? Valve has had a potted plant running TF2 development for the better part of a decade and it still makes bank.
TF2 is insanely more popular than DT.
And if giving FS the benefit of the fart thats not even close for Tencent to have made back their buck they spend on buying FS.

They don’t speak, they don’t develop, but by god that cosmetic shop WILL rotate every two weeks and people WILL buy it.
i doubt they keep themself afloat with just the game on its own, maybe not something shady but definitely lot of other things.

Because the double-knife thing was probably just a screw up (that hasn’t happened again as far as I can tell).
You’d have to be a moron to buy the same knife twice. The people who bought the second knife, but not the first, prolly don’t want it refunded. And people who somehow didn’t realize they were getting a duplicate knife could request a refund.

Speaking about cosmetics the Commissary was created for one thing: forestalling review bombing over there being basically nothing for non-paid cosmetics.
Since it’s inception it has not been updated in inventory. Fatshark will never update it regardless of how many unused cosmetics they have sitting around.
Unless, obviously, it being unupdated BECOMES the subject of review bombing.
Kinda sucks but FS doesn’t really seem to react until review scores start dropping
My review has been negative for many months and it will not change until things are fixed.
I frequently update (every month or two) my review to keep the “months since solo mode was promised and not delivered” relevant, speaking of…
And subcontracting the grunt work from other companies that were in crunch mode.
Do we need to create a topic to encourage the creation of negative steam reviews to see anything bulge?
We are a tiny fraction of the player base and Reddit, which is usually the biggest chunk of outreach, objected very strenuously to the thought of actually applying standards to a company.
So by all means try but I would not expect results.
This update must be so massive and impressive that fatshark just can’t handle saying anything about it

Look, this is a trash-tier company now, and does not give a damn about its customers - you people deserve this for buying their MTX.
Vermintide 2 was great and they’ve worked hard for years to destroy any goodwill from that.
They will NEVER improve so long as the 36 players they have left keep shoveling money into the ridiculously priced MTX store.
And frankly they don’t want to improve, they don’t like you. The don’t like the players. Somehow they are still making enough money, they think you’re suckers, they think they can do whatever they want and you’ll come back.
Just find a different game, spend your money there, and let these idiots wonder what happened when they’re on the job hunt.
