Eviscerator Size

Thoughts on the current eviscerator design?

Currently in all honesty, it is out of proportion underscaled and no where near represents an accurate depiction of the weapons beautiful aesthetic in my opinion .

Warhammer Lore, artwork depiction of the Eviscerator:

Current Darktide Eviscerator (No editing):

This needs to be fixed… immediately, currently it looks barely bigger than its 1-hand version, if anything it is a 1.25x scaled 1-hand chainsaw.

The lore depicts it as the following:

A huge two-handed weapon can run almost two meters in length, with a long grip and weighted pommel to allow for some semblance of balance in use. The chained teeth are exposed along the entire length, so that the user can swing it in both directions in combat more like a flail than a real sword. Originally used in Forge Polix as a tool for ripping apart large bulkheads and armour during construction, the tool was repurposed by warriors of Khorne who found it brutally effective on the battlefield.

An Eviscerator is an obscenely large double-handed Chain Weapon that is favoured by Ecclesiarchy zealots, Witch-Hunters, the Sister Repentia of the Adepta Sororitas and certain Assault Marines of the Adeptus Astartes. This Chain Weapon is fitted with a crude version of the disruption field generator more commonly found on Power Weapons . Although very unwieldy and tiring to use, the Eviscerator is fully capable of bisecting an armoured man or tearing open the most blasphemously corrupted mutant in a single stroke of its gargantuan blade. It can slice through walls and even damage vehicles. Since it must be wielded with both hands it cannot be used in combination with another close combat weapon.

“A huge two-handed weapon can run almost two meters in length” Not only is this not two meters in length, just from in-game screenshots it seems to be at a maximum 750mm long? and thats not even exagurating, this is meant to be a behemoth of a weapon, its over-scale and aestheitc is disctinctively iconic to the setting, and the fact that it looks like a slightly increased scale of the 1-hand chainsaw is a little disappointing.

Please revise this and use warhammer artwork as a reference.

Agreeing to this.

I’ll second that. Note, I’m only referring to how it looks from 1st person, not 3rd.

Imo, the size of the eviscerator is how large the regular chainsword should be.

I thought it was a regular chainsword when we first saw a video of it lol

Might not be an easy fix though and may not happen.

I also agree with it.

Dear Fatshark you already have Executioner Sword in Vermintide 2. So clearly size is not an issue. Eviscerator should be at MINIMUM the size of Executioner Sword in Vermintide 2.

The current Eviscerator sword looks like like regular chainsword.

This is also iconic weapon of WH 40k, once of the coolest and most badasss weapons there. You did it dirty, sorry to say it.

Please kindly rework the model to be bigger when you will have chance. Details like that really matter in WH 40k. The whole 40k universe is “rule of cool” to sum it up. This is not cool.

From WH 40k Wiki:

An Eviscerator is an obscenely large double-handed Chain Weapon

Please focus on words: obscenely large

Current one is obscenely small…

Ah, so that’s why I didn’t notice it when watching the video, while everyone said it was shown…

I am pretty sure that is their absolute top priority because everyone knows that there are basically no other issues they are working on.

Come on, that’s nonsense, and you know it. The gfx designers certainly aren’t working on code issues, and vice versa.

It’s a fair ask, and judging by the reactions here and on reddit, one that a significant part of the community is behind.

I mean obviously game breaking bugs take priority but when you make a 40k game you must be aware how important it is to be lore accurate with fans favourite things in setting. 40k is all about cool stuff that people love.

Look at their Bolter. The overwhelming joy that reddit, forum and YT fans felt when they saw in video that Bolter looks freaking great, sounds freaking badass and destroys everything in lound gory explosions. Hype went up. Why? Becasue it’s what 40k fans expect. Lore accuracy so they can nerd about it in game and have time of their life.

Look how universally negative was feedback about Chainsword from Close Beta. Why? Again, becasue it’s iconic weapon of 40k.

Look how universally great was feedback about lasgun. Again, iconic weapon. You need to make it right.

So right now there is negative feedback about Eviscerator becasue it doesn’t look at all like Eviscerator. It’s has certain look and feeling that needs to be shown in game. Oversized, freaking huge two-handed chainsword. It needs to feel almost too long to wield. Think Dragonslayer in Berserk. It’s comically too long, too big. But that’s the charm, thats the cool part. Nobody would like to play Berserk game where Dragonslayer is scaled down.

You do 40k game: do weapons right. That’s it.

ok there is your 2m eviscerator
ohh you are too weak to use it
too bad

if sister repentia can use it then a zealot can too, this is 40K, not a logical univers. It might get slower to compensate the increased reach though.

We need a class for the Zealot where he wields a heavy eviscerator that is basically a huge twohanded chainsaw:

Did… Did you just try to apply some sort of logic or physics to 40k?

the topic is about the size of a non-existant weapon so…

Rumor is, that there priest on the top has a magic button to make his plasma wielding Guardsmen next to him immune for 10 seconds. Long live Soulstorm.

All joking aside, if that guy was an actual class with talents and a signature weapon like that, I’d just play him…hang it up. For the Emprah.

Mmm I would play that zealot in a heartbeat! unforunately, what we got was a copy paste of the vermintide zealot to save dev time however :frowning: .

And even more unfortunatley there is no such thing as a heavy eviscerator, theres just an eviscerator… and whats in darktide currently isnt an eviscerator… its a scaled up 1-hand chainsaw.

The eviscerator is basically just a slightly longer chainsword you 2h instead of 1h right now.

Honestly, the Zoolander meme sold me.

It’s not. It’s a one handed Chainsword used as two handed only.

You complain only about the Eviscerator? POwer Sword and regular chainsword also are too small!

the ONE HANDED Chainsword Cain wields here is about the size of the eviscerator in game.

This one, imho, also looks a bit larger than what we got:

When the 1-hand Psycher off-hand weapon is the same size or larger than your 2-hand Zealot main-hand weapon…

what the hell is going on in the weapon design department…

Even the psycher looks shocked by this in this picture lol…

Why are we being issued tooth-pick sized Eviscerators when even the brain boys are given decent sized weapons? GIVE ME MY “2 METRE LONG” “BEHEAMOTH” WEAPON :frowning:
