Blinded by no lights :pensive:
It sure is Darktide

But ye, I also can’t see a thing with this modifier, if only they gave us some on body flashlights

I detest this modifier. Absolutely appalling design.

If they gave each player body flashlights then it would instantly go to a very fun modifier. How hard can it be to add some flashlights?

Immeasurably complex

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist

When you are not downed, you do have a flashlight.

Unless there is something strange going on with your settings, the screen is only that dark, because you are downed.

Looks pretty fine to me, now.

It is dark, but you can see quite a lot within a limited range. Enough range for combat.

Good map knowledge is definitely recommended to no get lost in the dark.
A weapon with flashlight can help with that.

Some people like this type of modifier, others do not.
But i do not think that the modifier is generally bad.

An issue that comes with this modifier (although not a fault of the modifier itself) is, that crushers sometimes do not make a sound.
The combination of limited vision and having sound bugs, is what can make this modifier actually unfair (silent crushers are bad in general, but especially bad when you also can not see that much).

We’ve got body flashlights, they just have all the illuminating power of a single match.

It’s a great modifier when you’re all running guns with torches. The mod should just boost everyone’s default torch to that brightness as part of the mod’s effect.

Can somebody create from this face of an ogryn an avatar? I will use it)

Dude joins a mission called “lights out” and expects there to be light LOL

Yes, because in reality if u going to dark place u go with flashlight. Why in 40k peoples cant use them?

I like the dark maps. The key issue I have is that flashlights/torches (nationality dependent) are extremely cheap in any point in time since cavemen rubbed some sticks together, and I cannot imagine anyone deliberately going in to a mission where we know it’s night time and there’s no power without some kind of illumination. I get it’s a game. It’s just stupid though.

All these jokers saying “bring a flashlight”, HA!

I say go full melee. FULL melee. One side effect of the modifier is that enemy aggro radius drops to almost zero. You can run up to a line of shotgunners and shake their hands before they realize you are there.

Most people miss out on this because they shoot at everything they can see and sweep their flashlights over everyone, aggroing everything in LoS and then some.

And you can run up to a line of Crushers and they shake your hands before you realise they are there.

Well that was one of the first things I complained about - 40k years into the future and we don’t have proper flashlights yet. The reality is, we do have them. These developers are just too lazy to implement them. There are literal flashlights you can attach to your weapons in the code already.

Download this mod, install it and you will be able to attach a flashlight to your weapon.

Before anyone starts saying “oh this is cheating” it isn’t cheating when it exists in the code it just hasn’t been added yet. They obviously had plans for this but greed took over and now they are only focusing on their terrible cosmetic releases.
