No lights modifier, give everyone the better flashlight

I really would want to like this modifier but because of how hard it is to see my eyes hurt.

Our base flashlight doesn’t help, it barely emits light at all, I am not sure that I can see past 2 meters.

My friends and I actually actively avoid playing this modifier because of how phisically painful it is.

And shooters don’t seem to be affected at all, so they keep headshoting us when we don’t even see them.

So, here’s the suggestion to make things better, give us the flashlight, not this little one that we already have, but the one so we could at least see far enough to be able to shoot the ranged enemies, make its light reach be around the shooting distance of the melee shooter(stalkers I suppose).

There are weapons that light up the dark and/or have a flashlight on them. It is about bringing the right tool for the job. Do I want to bring my Lasgun instead of my headhunter? I do if I want to see far. Flamer bursts, power weapons… the enemies have glowing bits.
I also suggest turning down your room lights or backlighting the monitor if it hurts your eyes. Those are not game tips, but I found it helps a lot when watching dark things.

Problem with that imo is if you’re doing quickplay and just kind of get thrown in there. Also Ogryn doesn’t have any weapons with flashlights…I agree with OP that players should at the very least get a better flashlight, if not the good one.

Well, I guess turning off the lights in my room might help, but sadly I can’t try this tip out.

Also, I do want to let you know that I am saying from Ogrin’s percpective, and as him it’s really hard to light things up in any way, I basicly become even more dependent on others than I already was.
It becomes a nightmare to fight shooters, quite literally…

The other replier explained my exact situation.

And gotta admit, that other classes don’t really struggle with this mode as much as Ogrin, by having many options of lighting their way to the enemy.

Yeah, I have started just leaving games that are lights-out, because they are nearly unplayable. I like the idea; I even like the extra Daemonhosts. But unless you happen to have a flashlight weapon with you, you’re just out of luck. You can barely see a few inches and it gives me a headache - not to mention how boring it is.

Really, just give everyone a good flashlight, and give the weapons with a flashlight something interesting as their special; bayonets on some, or more stock-bashes, I don’t care. Holding reload could toggle it off and on.

unless you play the class that doesn’t have access to a flashlight of course. Or quickplay into one without getting the chance to adjust your loadout.

Also reviving the 1 year old thread.

Necromancy is real.

What’s crazy is that the issue is still just as relevant. Nothing was changed. Can’t blame someone for continuing this thread instead of making a new one about the exact same issue, can you?

I like lights out. There’s generally enough ambient light at the key turning points where you might fall. And if you know the maps off by heart it does add something different.

Great levels for flamer zealot.

That said. Does it make any sense that the squad wouldn’t have shoulder lights, knowing its going to be pitch black? Or even night vision goggles? No.

For real guys, why and how?

Yes it’s sad that its still an issue. Either way I still find necromancy to be funny.

One of the biggest problems with the game as a new player was getting used to the fact that half of the guns don’t have any quick melee. If you play any other shooter, it is clearly a missing element. I like the idea of a shoulder mounted light toggled on or off by long pressing the melee button.
