everyone’s had these ideas, it’s the details that matter. you haven’t added any. there’s no point in this otherwise, and there’s no point in adding detailing because it’ll just rile up the fanbase while doing nothing but make it hard for fatshark to implement them without worrying about pest lawsuits.
I don’t really understand the legality problem here.
You are aware that any weapon inclusion would have to be agreed upon by GW anyway (like every warhammer game does), so even those would just go through the ‘normal’ process.
As to those weapons being needed or not, I could understand them being considered as bloat.
Lascarbine, as Carbines are, aren’t really fit to be the ‘braced’ Lasgun’ tbh.
And rather being the bridge between an heavier Laspistol and an Infantry or Lucius Lasgun.
Where it deal less damage than a lasgun, but is more mobile and has better better weakspot damage.
But has better base damage than the Laspistol, but is less mobile and has not as good weakspot modifier.
Honestly I would just consider it to be a candidate for a cosmetic rather than a separate weapon.
Lucius should have any of the following as future skins:
Mars
Vostroyan
Kalibrax (Solar Auxillia cosmetics ?)
In all fairness, the most ‘efficient’ way to add new weapons is to complete the missing marks (26, if we consider each cosmetic ‘family’, not counting the shield), as the models are already made for the most part).
I just wish the Fatshark would buff current Infantry Lasguns, Replace Stability with Fitness, and give them more crit chance as a base. Then, Blessing would give it a cleave on a weak spot hit. Rework to the Marksman focus part of Tree needs to happen; it’s unusable at the moment, pretty much at all…
However, the Lascarbines need something to make them less accurate at longer distances compared to an Infantry Lasgun. Making them into a Braced Lasgun would be an excellent way to achieve that and their folding stocks would add to that theme impeccably.
They would be a whole new niche of Braced/burst fire and I think that’s worthwhile adding for such low effort.
My stance is that their Folding Stocks would be a great way to justify making them Braced in order to differentiate them from Infantry Lasguns in a way that would actually somewhat suit a Carbine thematically.
Braced Autoguns aren’t really a great example of anything because they still have their iron sights and everything yet the Rejects still brace them.
This whole post is basically just me saying “Look, Fatshark… if you’re not going to implement Weapon Customisation, can you at least compromise?”
I thought that we “weren’t supposed to have Scions equipment”? Hot-shot Volley Guns suddenly shouldn’t be an Outcast Engineer-esque Ult?
it’s an old problem. if someone posts their ideas (Regardless of how vague, stupid, or awful they are) and the game releases something that could be interpreted as based off that, the poster can in many places file a lawsuit over it.
some places post idea threads specifically so they can say nobody on the dev team looks there, others just state they accept free ideas but will not pay, both of these can fail though. it’s not worth the energy in my mind to post these things without knowing the deal since most likely the deal is “nobody on the dev team will look at it or consider looking” because legal is a pain in the ass
