My game always ran perfectly, but today I decided to buy the on discount sister of the thorns bundle, that includes the career and the additional cosmetics. But now I am unable to launch the game due to an easy-anti cheat violation? It’s really weird since NOTHING else changed on my pc and I made sure of it…
Here is what I got as a crash log, which looks empty?

UPDATE: Modded realm fully loads me into the game, but when I pick Sister of the thorns class for Kerillian, her helmet is completely gone showing her face and bald head, I can use her ability just fine but I do not have the staff or the jabaline in my inventory.
And my customization items are there, but blocked? Please help.
I also get this message after the game crashes, why the actual FRICK is easy anti-cheat now detecting an item in my system32 folder as an “untrusted” item???
Thank you for replying! I have tried many of the options in the post you shared, (Mainly the ones that are the closest to my issue). I’ve also re-updated all my drivers, uninstalled easy anti-cheats and many more things yet I keep having the same issue. It is so extremely rare that this happened just for buying a DLC? It’s really weird
I have no mods installed… Normal realm crashes right before character select. Modded realm loads me in, but I have like, 10% of the dlc content (The career with the Ultimate, but no weapons nor cosmetics) It’s like the game didn’t fully register that I have this DLC…
It honestly is ruining my day since I really love this game and I spent money on this DLC (And I can’t get a refund either because of the method I used to buy it, and even then, I really wanted to play this Kerilian class…)
I want to try to re-install the game at some point, but I’m on phone data and the game is quite heavy, so I have to wait until I’m at my dad’s to be able to try that… I’m not sure what to do aside from that at this point…
Thank you for your time and replying! I went ahead and uninstalled the game and procceded with the steps you shared, once I’m able to fully download the game again ill let you know if it worked or not!
Turns out anti-cheat is doing this for EVERY SINGLE GAME that uses anti-cheat (Happened the same with dead by daylight), so I’m planning to straight up just restart back to factory my gaming laptop and just pray that fixes it when I reinstall everything
Yes it has! Everything works well so far and I was able to play and also recived the DLC content and was able to play a match just fine! it seems like it was just a easy anti-cheat error and had nothing to do with vermintide, thank you for your help along the way <3!
Interesting!
A bit late, but if it ever happens again, I have a vague memory of this being caused by having two instances of EAC active at the same time. Maybe you have/had a game that kept its anticheat or EAC open at all times by accident (it either failed to close or keeps starting on its own). So ye, if it happens again, might be worth taking a peek in task manager and seeing if something like that is happening.
I cannot believe I didn’t think of using task manager once when It’s usually the first thing I check, Peraphs it had to do with the game not closing propertly from steam… Good catch!
