just to be clear i agree with almost everything in your post, but if their new post is to be trusted they are trying to address this. they said

obviously there are many reasons they might struggle putting these words into reality but i think the idea is there. that’s why I like this patch direction despite not really addressing the core issues yet. copium maybe
