I hope they do, so they can see this and invest the relatively small amount of time to implement it:
Yeppers, a tool for the BlatherWarhammer Fantasy skill enthusiasts, it’s infuriating but yay for blocklists.
Blather
Characters with this skill may attempt to blather against characters who speak the same tongue. Blathering can be used in almost any situation in order to gain time. Blatherers simply invent a complete string of nonsense, ranting on and on whilst their victims stand dumbfounded, wondering whether they are insane, intoxicated, or possibly dangerous. Blathering is always nonsensical - it is not an attempt to bluff, only to confuse. Blathering characters should make a test against Fel. A successful test indicates that the blathering succeeds in its purpose for that ten second combat round. Success by +10% or more points indicates that it works for D6 additional rounds. After this time, the victim will wise up and the character had better run for it.
NPCs will not remain transfixed by a blathering character if they are in obvious danger or if blatant preparations are being made to harm them. Although blathering characters may transfix any number of opponents, they are unlikely to succeed with more than one if anything else is going on around them, such as a fight.
Doesn’t that mean South East Asia? I think you mainly mean mainland CN edit: and HK.
Don’t forget ModdedCrutchtide, or is that technically a sub-region of Crutchtide.
As a side note, I’d like to point out, again (as a few have mentioned here), that the “pro nerf” crowd is ALSO pro-buff for the weak outlier, pro-balance.
No they do not in the slightest, insane take.
I meant South East Asia, was not aware of a mainland China only region. But yeah, seems to be most of the negative reviews are in Chinese so China it is.
Lol yep. Which is why I added:
I just assumed they at least tried to debate in good faith by reading the counter arguments while using AI to respond. Maybe I have too much faith in the Emperor, I mean people
As a mucker main, don’t forget about Tox Grenade. It needs to be nerfed even further!
dueling sword needs other few things nerfed and also its own mobility tuned down
purgatus/soulblaze needs to be adjusted cause it’s just broken
smite needs to be reworked so that psykers don’t rely on a blitz and using it as main weapon
boombringer and hive scum needs to be nuked and nerfed
other things i don’t like much are
loyal protector from ogryn which disables and turn off the game comparable as smite
and combat blade knife needs its mobility tuned down too just like ds, it doesn’t matter how much it gets nerfed people can still rush with it which is annoying
and any source of golden toughness it just needs to disappear from this game
Elitists like you are exactly what is wrong with this game. We need to demand buffs until 10 min Havoc runs that can be accomplished while watching a video is the norm.
The real utility of the Turing Test is realizing there are humans who don’t pass it.
Note “don’t”, not “can’t.” It’s sheer lack of effort.
People define what counts as cheating differently, so it’s hard to generalize, but at least for me, things like aimbots or constant highlight effects (like permanent ES-style visuals) are out of the question. On top of that, I consider all helper-type mods and macros to fall under cheating.
I used to encounter these quite often, players instantly solving Auspects puzzles, or automating specific actions and attacks with macros. Whether they’re “harmless” or don’t let someone jump to a higher difficulty is irrelevant. Cheating is cheating, and if it goes against fair play, it simply shouldn’t be used. It’s a very basic principle.
At the end of the day, it’s just a matter of people with the wrong mindset correcting it.
Between players around Malice-level skill who argue that the current meta isn’t really a problem at all, doesn’t need any nerfs, and that everything else should simply be buffed, and the (very small number of) players around Havoc 40 who believe that clearly problematic meta elements, such as DS, Inferno, DoT damage, and Gold Toughness, should be nerfed, which opinion do you think is more worth considering?
By “skill” here, I mean players who are capable of playing effectively without relying on the meta at all.
If we shouldn’t call the current Darktide development team ‘incompetent,’ then what should we call them? They completely ignore everything the majority of players are actually asking for, new weapons, biomes, factions, bosses, game system improvements like a Party Finder for Havoc, and even new skins for Hive Scum or Arbites. They’ve completely cut off communication with the community, choosing instead to churn out ‘dead modes’ like Mortis Trials and Expeditions. If it’s not incompetence, what is it?"
That also depends on whether or not you have any clue what the engine limitations actually are…or whether or not you are playing on linux!
But it is rather symptomatic of this board that this wild stab in the dark based upon nothing but a feeling gets 7 upvotes
Really? Because there are 6 items on your list!
I remember there was an attempt to hint at the shallow balance takes and lack of nuances and it turns out since then some of you still haven’t learned about the weapon marks
Already I’m doing 25 minute rotten armour runs with 0 brainpower needed, 4 man havoc 40s feel like auric before havoc was added
At this point I would rather say that it’s “high finesse weapons with uncanny strike” rather than just “dueling swords” and uncanny strike is the biggest offender imo.
Product of the ‘player retention via RNG weapons’ bs that still haunts the game. There are usually 3-4 BiS blessings head and shoulders above the rest. Fatshark is unwilling or unable to rebalance these blessings to actually be useful.
It’s kinda easy to solve DS actually
1- Remove Uncanny Strikes from it, replace it with Executor
2- Remove ALL STAGGER from it, only allowing it to stagger enemies through parry attacks (imitating how VT2 Rapier works, a weapon with very low stagger, headshot focused with a special attack that has strong stagger)
Like I swear you could have these changes and DS would still be mega viable Havoc 40, but now people would be forced to constantly aim for headshots and play into the distance of the heavies to be effective, just like VT2 Rapier does
And to solve Combat Blade / Force Sword, just rework uncanny strikes to be a fixed amount of rending on weakspots
Just like Opportunist (25% rending against staggered), make it 20% rending on weakspots. No stacks, no “timer”, just that 20% fixed rending of the attack alone on weakspot and that’s it (this also solves the leaking issue)
Buff shovel to have higher armor penetration to compensate for this nerf to uncanny
(Obviously also fix macro abuse on Deimos)
Is it with 20 stacks of IJ or Blazing piety bleeding shenanigans? Been trying to make “we have VT2 shade at home” too but combat blade reach is a joke to make backstabs worth it.
Wow so true and representative of the reality of the forum! You are so brave to post this OP! +1. /s
No but seriously, all the venting, drama, victimism and hate posting is probably why Fatshark is radio silent on communication with the community. Too much noise to signal ratio, why bother?
Triggered?
Darktide currently has no designers because no person that can be called a designer would take part in making expeditions.
The same is true for balancing.
