Nope
5 actually, if counting Purgatus and Soulblaze as seperate balancing issues.
Yeah, Shivs and Combat Knife are pretty wild with it too even though Shivs Uncanny cap is much lower.
Good solution.
It’s a huge shame I crashed mid Game and the scoreboard reset, but with my constant tab spamming through the Game you can see I’m pretty much matching (and maybe even surpassing) the Rampage Scum with Shivs and Needle (because he died but still), as well as the Inferno Staff Psyker
Combat Axe is absolutely usable, and this should be the standard tbh, not current OP combat blade, DS, and so (ofc, Combat Axe should get technical fixees like all heavies getting the same range, as well as making so that sprinting doesn’t cancel charging a heavy attack)
I’m even willing to accept keeping Relic Blade as it is since at least it requires managing the heat, learning combos and you move slow af
Bingo. Say horrible things about the staff and surprise they don’t want to talk with us.
Did you think we started this way? Or do you think it’s been 8 years of fighting tooth and nail to get Vermintide 2 to a good place + almost 4 years of playing second fiddle to what the shareholders think is best in Darktide that made us cynical and bitter. I’ll give you a hint, most of us started out bright eyed and understanding.
For me in particular, I have very distinct memories of talking with my friend about the Darktide Open Beta and how excited we were, how they’d iron out the kinks, “Just look at how Vermintide 2 launched compared to now!” I said, “You’re right, Fatshark showed they really cared” he said. Then with Darktide it’s just been “shut up and give us money. We don’t care what you want”
Make a single insignificant change to Plasma, as well as adding 10 seconds to voice of command
Negative review bomb
“Devs don’t wanna talk because the elitists insults them”
I try not to be disparaging beyond calling out the clear managerial incompetence (fueled by silence, at this point). But, from my POV, this is a chicken or egg situation since DT is where I boarded the FS train.
Remember, a percent of a percent of any given game’s players even lurk online spaces, let alone participate. But, the discerning patron will read reviews and often update news as well.
And, IMHO, anyone working online in any capacity, especially game devs of nearly 20 years, should know how to handle what the internet can throw at them beyond complete, contemptible silence.
And talk about whiplash since I returned during the comms heyday of Strawhat (who, by all accounts, seems to have fought hard to be allowed to communicate with us) only to be left high and dry at the peak of my DT journey (read: most likely to spend $$).
What did I or any potential new customer do to deserve the situation we find ourselves in?
Game developers talk about their creations the way car enthusiasts discuss their vehicles. They have no reason or desire to spend time in places dedicated to posting hateful content about them or their work. (would anyone?)
This made me think that Steam should show the players the ratings and reviews only or at least prominently from their own region. Apart from maybe being a better measurement from their own culture(s in more multicultural regions), it could counteract such poisoning of the average rating by only certain regions like in this case.
Yeah, but on the other hand we also have radio silence and stonewalling on the performance side of things, sometimes even blatant disregard for the notion that there might be any to begin with.
At some point one has to accept that not doing stupid thing is a key to not being perceived as being particularly gifted in that regard!
I dont need or even want a guy to tell me about his car, but i would like to know why the one he sold me runs like crap and what is being done about it!
…and then the people coming out to excuse it. It wouldn’t be so bad if the majority of other users called it out as unacceptable, but instead we get people trying to justify it. Why would devs want to interact here.
So, if you went to a car dealership, bought a car, drove it off the lot, and it started falling apart around you Looney Tunes style, would you A) Complain to the Dealership and ask why nothing is being done to fix it, or B) Shut down anyone who is rightfully voicing their complaints at a dealership who refuses to respond or acknowledge any complaints because “they’re being mean,”?
I don’t think anyone even asks for the actual devs to show up but Fatshark is failing at even the basics of communication. They’ve consistently fired and refused to replace CMs, leaving Quickpaw to handle two games with some help from a damned customer service rep (no shade to Julia, but what she’s been taking on feels well outside her job description). Small wonder people aren’t happy, they’re not given reasons to be.
That environment is easily rectified: you need to start communicating and actually being seen taking in feedback and taking action, and you need to keep pumping out stuff the player base wants.
Fatshark’s approach is to limp along dropping something half baked nobody asked for every three months while the game itself suffers from a massive backlog of problems they’re unwilling to address, all the while refusing to answer questions about their plans or goals.
Did they get fired, or did they quit because they don’t want to deal with this community?
Are they refusing to hire, or are they not finding any applicants who want to deal with this?
Cool, if you have a community angry at you because of your poor decisions, you then pay whatever the person willing to fix your PR problem wants in order to get them to take the job. Cut one of the seven executives who do literally nothing for the game’s marketing and give their salary to the poor overworked bastard who’ll have to take up the workload Strawhat did.
That’s the simple problem. Fatshark screwed up and then decided to compound that screw up with further poor decisions and contemptuous silence. That is a choice of theirs.
Just like it’s a choice for you to live up to your username.
The reach is insane
A lot of people would be gladly to take a job opportunity, it’s Fatshark not accepting them obviously
Let me ask this: how many unique users even come here just to spit vitriol at FS?
Even the harshest of the comments on announcement threads like expeditions are a small percentage of the overall engagement and typically from mostly the same cast of shite slingers at this point.
I don’t see much on reddit other than the patented FS fandom disappointment and wishing they would do better by us. I’m not in the discord so idk how toxic it is, but that’s usually player infighting vs pinging devs/CMs with hate speech IME. I don’t even see much hate in the scummiest of steam forums. And they should be using moderation tools liberally if they want to clean up this alleged toxicity pandemic.
On the contrary, I have seen numerous threads the past year like this one, or people with a new passion and excitement for the game come in here and write whole-ass tomes about ideas, wishes, or constructive criticism only to be shown they will get no engagement.
We also hear or see how they don’t even listen to their inner circle of creatives/play-testers, people they ostensibly chose to allow in their “presence.”
I don’t know if there were death threat or doxxing events in the past that caused all this turtling.
But it’s pretty easy to find records of promises still not kept, disinterest in keeping long term players, or CMs making outright antagonizing comments.
None of them have been fired as far as I know and I know far more than the average non-shark
it’s a high turnover industry and people move on is all
Search results for 'incompetent' - Fatshark Forums After a ton of scrolling, it eventually says There are more results. Please narrow your search criteria.
There have been and at least that is a over the line and the community won’t tolerate. They get removed pretty quickly.
There are good suggestions from passionate people who are constructive. No one is complaining about the constructive criticism, but when it’s surrounded by calling them incompetent, and their work trash, you shouldn’t be shocked no one wants to interact with the community.
I don’t doubt people say stupid things and direct it at nebulous “devs” since that happens in every community (again, goes with the industry, sadly), but it’s overwhelmingly levied at managers/leadership. And is there any reason not to at this point? We out here defending management after what they keep delivering?
This also illustrates my point. If you are a company that solely engages in digital commerce, how are you even functional if being called incompetent is enough to rustle your jimmies such that you break contact with your customer base?
Maybe it’s purely cultural and something innocuous to me that I can clearly attribute to an unhinged chud that only says such things behind anonymity truly cuts to the bone of FS personnel. Maybe they never spend any time on the internet and don’t know how it really brings out the worst in people. But I just can’t get my head around that for a global video game company with, I assume, at least a handful of employees over the age of 30.
There are probably 10+ reasons besides player base toxicity that they cut contact to what it is. And I used to think and be like you, blaming the occasional flamer here for the withdrawal. But, at this point, I’ve seen more people blaming player language for the silence than I have seen language that should (imo) warrant such a reaction.
It’s just another layer on the pile of sadness that holds this game back from being what it could be.
