Does fatShark know that money is being copied?

Just that almost everything about their crafting system was the exact opposite of anything they described the system being prior to launch, along with the admission in an article that they had to pivot once or twice during development leads me to believe what we have now is a cobbled together, rushed out, placeholder of a system that missed the point of every criticism made about VT2’s itemisation that was only greenlit because they both ran out of time and someone saw it as a way to hit their retention metrics.

The “full picture”, so to speak, is probably only going to happen when they finally free up some more resources after they release the xbox port and spend a few months trying to fix that.

Or you can play another game that values your time.

I agree for people that have entered in the closed beta and have bought it before the release.
For other players, you could see on this forum what crafting system was planned for DT. The blog was published before the game release.

This is what I believe… that and the fact they will obviously work on a DLC.
But, again, we could be wrong

We agree on this. If you can’t adapt or think it is something that is definitively a no for you, yes you should play an other game.

My personal opinion is that the gameplay of DT is excellent. The crafting system is boring but I adapted to it. Clicking consecrate / refine / rebless doesn’t take too much time and I have my method to get what I want,., I can test everything I want…

So, as I take pleasure in the game, I continue to play it. But if I would be bored by the game, I would play something else. In fact, from time to time, I play a different game (actually Armored core VI, but I plan to test starfield as I have the gamepass (took it for my son)).

Did they fix this in Hotfix 1.1.21 (just released) does anyone know? Nothing in patch notes i could see

1.1.21 was like start of August, so no it did not fix this bug that has been occurring for like 2 weeks now.

I’ve no idea why I thought that was a new patch note. :eyes:
Brain parp.

On the one hand I’m thankful this was posted here cause I didn’t know about it. On the other hand why would you rat this bug out?

Because he doesn’t want Hadron to send the debt-collector combat servitors after him. I would definitely be in the hole big…

Trying to talk to him is like trying to have an argument with derek zoolander. Just let it go if you value your sanity.

So you are saying I should download DT again and ACTUALLY MAYBE have a chance to get an item that I want?

You better hurry, it’s already been going for two weeks, surely it will be addressed aoon

Couple of friends said they just amassed like hundreds of orange weapons, which in turn has now given them at least 8 ideal weapons per class with perks and blessings they want in less than a week casually doing this whilst watching Netflix or remote work meetings

Basically they have reached end game in crafting which normally take hundreds of hours in game time over months. So can imagine those than spent months grinding, for someone else to do in less than few hours. Boring to do this, but I guess they got their rewards

I could do, but I couldn’t be bothered with crafting altogether now and I just stick to meta per class.

And now they can finally start playing the game THE INTENDED WAY - having fun with various builds

The hilarious thing about this bug is that it doesn’t break the crafting system at all. It just makes it significantly less grindy. It’s still really grindy.

The old status quo can’t come back, Fatshark. Statistically, nobody liked it.

If you want people to keep playing the game, the game needs more content, not more pointless grinding.

I absolutely agree - but they could formalise it, by adjuting crafting prices accordingly without the need to switch between characters ^^

Exactly. When this bug is “fixed” it should come with, at the absolute bare minimum, a 60% decrease in crafting cost.

If Fatshark gets their collective head out of their collective ass and removes all crafting locks, an increase in crafting cost would actually be in order.

High crafting cost plus locks is a bad system, period.

This bug points out the absurdity of locks, because even with infinite consumables you brick inordinate amounts of gear with no real replacement method in game that is reliable. All it truly achieved for me was the loss of the illusion that sitting and chipping away at my gear pile I had accumulated upgrading to max would give me the weapons I want.

And for what reason? Does the game actually break if you could just reroll a weapon how you’d like to play around with it, instead of hoping for another one with that roll you’d like? Its straight anti-fun, there’s no two ways about it, and the locks are so obviously the issue. Even with the curios I was lauding for finally improving with 2/4 variables in the player’s hands. The only system for obtaining them is still armory exchange or Melk’s judgment…this should be a giant red flag that at the very least the item ACQUIRING is still unfinished. I guess if you focus on just this issue, it seems like Brunts is the problem. Because there is an abundance of garbage you’re suffocated with in terms of gear, even clearing damnation regularly with conditions and books. 99% of gear is garbage, making 99% of items unfun to interact with at the outset, and then you readily brick the 1% of items that made it past that net.

Is there someone else here that think that not seeing this bug patched could mean the removal of the 80% cap on weapons?

It would make sense with new players from the Xbox release. And would explain why they have not patched. It would also mean several adjustments with the next patch.
Can’t see any reason why they would not have patched that, except this.

I believe we haven’t seen the end of crafting updates and expansions anyway. So even if we inflate the pool of available high level gear from everyone having “free” (well, it’s 90% rebate crafting really if you want to be accurate) crafting, then they can still just make all that gear useless or not the best.

MMOs work on this principle all the time. The max level stays at lvl x for quite some time and when everyone and their dog’s mom is geared up, new better gear immediately devalues the best high end gear previously used.

What that means is, that even if this crafting bug goes unchecked until the release now, they can still just make all the best gear “the stuff from yesterday”.
Don’t forget that it’s almost guaranteed there will be a 5th rarity level and that they hinted at Blessing level 4 not being the maximum and you start to understand where that train may be headed.

The thing this bug helps with the most is unlocking blessings. It doesn’t affect dockets, and most of the RNG involved in crafting the current “perfect” weapon is from acquiring a high base score item with ideal stat distribution. Dockets were always the bottleneck in this pursuit unless you’re not using Brunt, in which case time is the bottleneck.
