Does fatShark know that money is being copied?

Especially when you look back at the interviews where they claim they developed this system to significantly cut down on the amount of items you would need to acquire as opposed to previous games, lmao. I have like barely 2-3 pages of gear on every character in VT2. Vs like 300 ogryn melee weapons alone. Keep storing my trash until you make recycling valuable.

And this bug also points out how disgustingly bad the perk pools are. Most things are fine by the blessings, even coping, but really only have 2 perk slots in a system with apparently more choice. The defensive options like stamina/sprint/block efficiency should be stronger on weapons than they are currently too.

I kid you not, the only good items I have ever crafted, I got when i hit level 30 and then used that “gettting to level 30 luck” and the next 5 to 8 weapons were always insane… some of which have yet to be replaced 600 hours later and on all 4 of my chars, they are still what I use.

This system is objectively bad and like I said several times, it needs to be fully replaced.
And no @Ralendil , there is no indication that they will not rework the system and they have never stated that they won’t do so. Your argument to that point is just false. The only claim that can be made is that the XBox release swallowed their entire team and that’s likely why they didn’t get much else done.

We didn’t know or had any indication that they were working on the skilltrees since even before the game launched and if your logic actually worked, we wouldn’t get the skilltrees either…

If the aim was to report a bug then you probably should have used the bugs forum. As it stands sounds like you just wanted to tattle.

Yeah but Vermintide 2 has that annoying rerolling mechanic. That crap isn’t interactive or engaging. Each time I interact with it in order to change proprieties for cata FOW I feel like my brain cells are dying. Shouldn’t take more than one minute tops to get power vs and push/block cost on a freaking weapon. Also been recently coming back to Vermintide 2 and almost everyone I talk to about Darktide in that game has nothing but disappointment towards Darktide. Really interested to see how this all affects Fatshark’s next title.

Honnestly, odds are not bad. I was talking about the 20% material decrease of the last patch.
And yes, when you spin the wheel, you can find good things…

Here I have put the 109 weapons I crafted to get an idea of the odds to craft something good.
Lot of them are good. Fact is, it took me lot of days to craft 40 weapons… and few missions to craft 70 more due to this bug. And I’ve found excellent weapons.
Reducing the materials needed can help to craft more and, therefore, the odds to get something you will pleased by.

But that is not the point! That was never the point! Besids the fact that everyone has a different idea of what makes for good or bad odds (and the fact that I disagree with the odds being good), it’s the fact that it’s odds that pisses me and many others off.

Yes, if the cost was nearly 0 for crafting, you can spin the wheel until you do find something you want but then the question becomes: “if the cost is so low that I will eventually get what I want, why can’t I just directly craft what I want?” And that is a question you have never been able to find a good answer for.

The only difference is the amount of time you spend in the menu and you cannot seriously tell me that the idea is to spend hours crafting mostly garbage you don’t care about, even if it costs you nothing in terms of resources. That is just an objectively bad idea.

This is not the first or even second time I make this point either.

The discussion of what the odds are and whether they are good (enough) or bad (enough) is pointless! There will always be a disagreement over that discussion and there is no middle ground to be found. It’s just simpler to not have to deal with odds and gacha to begin with.

Which is precicely why I ask FS to rework the system and do better.

Above: Fatshark, this time last year

Indeed about this…
but adding more perk slots means more RNG…
But I fully agree that all defensives options (and even for blessings) are less interesting than damage bonus options.

I can understand you don’t like these menus, but I doubt they are a problem. I have not played a lot VT2, but I clearly remember that there are menus for crafting.

Here someone that think that VT2 menus were not really good:

As I said a lot of times (and it would help me if FS would allow us to put a signature to not repeat that every times) about the DT crafting system, love it, like it, dislike it, hate it… FS seems to not want to change the system for something without RNG.
Or, you adapt, or you can’t and then you should play something else.

You have the absolute right to think it.
I disagree totally about it cause I think it can help people that want to adapt the system to understand it.

do I have to repeat it? FS doesn’t want to remove RNG. So talking about what we have and how to adapt to the system (odds, way to increase odds to get something good) is all but pointless.
And, at contrary, in my opinion, talking about something that has no chance to happen is what is pointless. That’s just my opinion (like you have yours).

Why are you responding to me?

I don’t…

You have my post quoted and nothing you said has anything to do with Vermintide 2 or rerolling mechanic; additionally your side comment of: Or, you adapt, or you can’t and then you should play something else - has nothing to do with me since I don’t play Darktide.

He pointed menus… I just say that menus were also not a great experience in VT2, and so there is not a big difference on this between DT and VT2.
If you love VT2 crafting menus and have not understood your post tell me…

VT2 crafting wasn’t good, but still somehow better than Darktide’s. That’s the big question from anyone who’s played VT2. How did they and who made it even worse?

I’m at a loss honestly since I don’t understand. I’ll drop it since I don’t want you to feel like I’m targeting you.

Don’t get me wrong, but I will precise it cause this is obviously needed each time I talk about the crafting system, I don’t try to defend the crafting system of DT… anything with RNG is for me something not really fun. On this we agree.
But I believe we don’t have yet the final picture of what will be the DT crafting system.

That’s quite a change in tone from asserting that Fatshark will never change the crafting/itemisation system.

I don’t think it’s uncommon for people to use the wrong subforum when posting threads. I’ve seen plenty of (unstructured) bug reports in General Discussion/Gameplay Feedback in the past.

For anyone calling out OP for reporting this, please don’t. Regardless of your opinions on crafting, resource acquisition etc, OP is just reporting a bug. Let’s not discourage people from reporting bugs.

Given the nature of the bug (state changes not being persisted), there may be other consequences of the bug that are less beneficial to the player e.g. could resources earned at the end of a mission get lost? Does anyone even want to risk finding out?

That actually did happen for a while.

Let’s say it like that… I don’t work for them, so I don’t know what they will do.

My opinion, but this is just an opinion and everyone can disagree with me, that’s fine for me, is that they won’t change it and that we should adapt. But I may be wrong, there’s always a chance that something happen and that they decide to throw away their current system and put something better.
As I said some time ago, modifiers are capped at 80%. This means that it gives them an opportunity to change the system without breaking what the players have in their inventory.
But, “removing locks” as only change… I don’t believe in it a second. Doesn’t change the fact I could be wrong.
