i know that its not really likely but i just really wanna see my vet with a shield and shock maul to beat back the enemies while also keeping my team safely behind me. yes, i know that i can lay ogryn, i refuse, i hate playing ogryn.

I’ve been secretley hoping for awhile now that the next class (however unlikely) would be an Arbites style local Enforcer with a suppression shield & maul combo.
I’m super happy with the shock maul we have, but an added shield would be awesome.
honestly, i would love an Arbites class that starts with a sword and an autogun and has some sort of team buff for the ability and the grenade is just a trap or something or maybe even a servo skull. it’d be cool.
It’s very likely that they’ll have shields on the normal humans. And thus take the enforcers one as model (which already exist as an asset in the game, iirc it’s on the left side when you’re in the inventory).
As for an Arbites classe/archetype, doesn’t really mesh well with the Reject or offer enough to be suitable as an Archetype.
Enforcer already is the base for the Savant personality, but I think an Enforcer branch for the Zealot could work quite well
- Concussion Grenades (Impact CC grenades)
- Cyber-Mastiff (Pet summon/recall as well as ability if the CM is already there)
- No Keystone, but bigger ability sub nodes
A shield would have made the shock maul a much more interesting weapon and offered a more unique addition to gameplay than the current iteration, it’d be great to see something along those lines in the future. Having another class capable of doing the shield thing, even if not quite as well, would be nice.
