Issue Description (Required):
Ever since I picked up Darktide again after the Nightmares and Visions patch I’ve noticed that DLSSFG didn’t seem to be working as intended, to clarify even tho Steam’s FPS Overlay and MSI Afterburner were reporting higher FPS the actual video output didn’t seem to match up to the reported FPS.
Basically, if my FPS overlay was reporting 120-130fps in-game it actually feels like I’m playing at 40-50fps. I know for sure this isn’t just my eyes messing with me because Afterburner’s frametime graphs were also reporting anomalous frametimes, being constantly at 2 milliseconds.
I did eventually figure out the cause of this, thanks to a few old posts on Reddit as well as some testing of my own, it appears as tho Darktide’s specific implementation of DLSSFG does not function if you have Gsync enabled as well. I’m saying it’s Darktide specific because I have no issues with DLSSFG in other games, an example being Space Marine 2. However, I can also verify that this issue does not happen on older Nvidia drivers before version 572.16 so it’s possible this could just be an issue on Nvidia’s side of things.
I’ve also made a Steam guide that repeats what I said here but also includes a (definitely unintended) fix for anyone who’s having the same issue.
