Disabling Crossplay

That was just speculation, but I haven’t read a thought out explanation to how that wouldn’t be the case

At this point there isn’t anything you can do other than report it as spam lol

To return to your topic though. While I want FS to implement opt out more than anything else, I reckon they won’t. It’s a way of future-proofing the minimum playerbase in case they do a major fukk-up again. The game had around 2-3k concurrent players (steamcharts) before the class update.

New players basically always played with bots, whilst the majority of the remaining playerbase kept to Damnation. It was a great time with mostly competent players, never had issues finding games.

If they force cross play that at least increases the chance of lower difficulties being populated.

In all fairness, we should report this topic as spam

The only one spamming here is you. The OP is making a thread for a request that a lot of the pc player base keep asking for in these forums. Suit yourself.

That is the same as the last thread created less than a week ago, is still active, and he could post on that? Maybe our definition of spam is different.

I’ll have to say though, I am glad the rhetoric has progressed from “because they are bad” to “I just want it because they have the option”. I think that’s progress

The rethoric hasn’t changed. People have been saying that they want to have the option day one. “Because they are bad” is simply one of the most frequent reasons.

No, OP confirmed that is irrelevant and so he has a fair point.

console players play badly because they’re on console. sounds hyperbolic but the reality is that they’re both used to poor controls due to how much fine control you lose from mouse to joystick aiming and nonexistant sense of cooperation as console games tend to join a game, do whatever they want and then move on regardless of how often they might get reported or kicked because on console there’s no penalty for any level of toxicity.

PC darktide players are being forced to carry a bunch of willfully oblivious jerks that just want to d!ck around and get rewarded for it actively moving into the hardest difficulties because those show a bonus to rewards, and that shouldn’t happen. disabling crossplay can happen, and it should be an option for PC players.

They don’t need to remove crossplay, and they can leave it on as the default. We just need an option to opt-out.

Dam what difficulty was that on?
Also what’s your player ID so I can block you in game?

Yikes

There’s a mod for that.
You can also disable the audio-part in Options but that defeats the purpose.

Good to know! I may move over to mods soon.

My suggestion is to disable the sound if a player did it more than twice in under 2 seconds or something like that, Its for the melee players who ping it 10-15 times during a patrol fight.

Which is a perfectly healthy player count for this game. We never had an issue filling lobbies in vermintide and that didnt even reach these numbers.

Please angry jerk harder, you sound worse than cod players. How about work around it, or just leave when you see console players. I’m on xbox and have been slaying. Been under some sunshine lately?

That person is the controller/console player.

Yeah I see that now, didn’t bother reading the rest of the thread. Saw that big 'ol paragraph and it sounds crybabyish. I just get on here to see updates and saw that mess

It is a messy topic.

I’m on PC, but play with a controller for all FPS tbh.

I agree with ya though. Sorry I don’t make that more obvious lol

I just got the Elite controller last night! I kinda suck since I’m used to my razor controller, but I’ll get there! So far the Xbox controller is really nice.

If you don’t mind me asking, do you have full rumble support on your controller? I bought the elite because someone told me it does for Darktide. It definitely has more than my razor, but it still doesn’t rumble when I shoot lol driving me crazy haha

If the goal of disabling crossplay is to not be matched with people you’ll have to carry, I’d rather some sort of system be in place that locks characters out of difficulty tiers they’re not ready for. Like you can’t queue for Damnation if you haven’t completed 3 Heresy matches without dying on a given character (or whatever stats are best to measure). Because characters being in difficulties they don’t belong in definitely isn’t a controller-specific problem.

Disclaimer: I screw up plenty even after an obscene amount of time in the game.
