Devs when they nerfed 1 million kills and everyone could get Auric Storm Survivor.
exactly, it’s too late to change it
I liked the “secret” part of it, even now not everyone knows how to get it
(so it really has some value)
They need to do something about this…
I can’t start a game with 4 players… cause nobody play it.
I don’t understand the new feature they added (party finder). In my opinion, it doesn’t answer to the demand of player (choosing mission and conditions) and it doesn’t bring something to the game.
I was hoping you could find a team for Orthus… but let’s say it, it has failed every times I tried.
and i guess if you find a team, they will just do the normal damnation version of it which doesn’t help
can join if you want, i did in true duo (since bots won’t help)
the strategy:
each boss shield must be at around 5%
when both shields are broken
always focus one boss, in this case, the boss with plasma gun, since Rinda it is way more easier to manage at the end
(meanwhile the other boss spamming mines will be very hard, cause will be very fast throwing them when in rage mode)
then being very near to the wall, while moving all around attached to the wall, in this way mines won’t be that much in the middle
then the usual, stepping in mines to clear them out
once shields are broken and you do the damage to the boss, once they get the shield back, elites and specials will spawn, it is always good to clear them out first those and then boss
No title is best title.
nerfing that title presumes that ASS was something great to begin with.
I mean, as someone who earned that title normally (with 3 in a row deaths at 4/5 ) few days ago I like my title very much and honestly - who cares if someone else got it in legit way or not? It doesn’t change how I got it. Titles are for you. Like who even wants that title if not for the sport of trying to get it (like achievements in general)?
If someone is trying to get/cheese that title only to show off to others, then that person has some serious low self-esteem issues and is craving for some extrenal validation of him/herself. But that’s probably their problem in life in general.
If you got it like me for yourself just so you can go “yay, finally!” after few 4/5 wipes and rages and then move on with your life - then I guess ASS title is as fun for you to carry as it is for me.
Who cares about other people with this title, lol
Your skill is your best badge. Honestly, even if average skilled player has good awareness, positioning and instant reaction to free team mate from disablers. That’s a top notch team player. It is the good intention to team that counts more from pinging ammo, leaving green stim for others etc.
That feel good serotonin factor is similar reason why we always don’t leave a man behind at extraction, even though it yields no additional reward or incur any penalty.
I ignore penances, titles etc. Way I see it gives no advantage in mission gameplay or provide any rewards to enhance gear. Just ignored penances/titles etc over time and not have to jeopardise a team by playing in a certain way to pop a penance and then one day the Auric purple and orange titles just happened to pop up.
But hey if they want to really show who regulars Auric…
An Auric completion counter numerical badge next to portrait. Now that would really show. Not someone who squeezed few alt+f4 games then went back to lower difficulty. If anything a counter like that encourages someone to stick around for hope to completion than doing alt+f4 as losses would not be deducted from this counter anyway. No reason to alt+f4, more reason to stick around and far better badge.
@FatsharkStrawHat Good idea to pass on?
orthus is something for premades or if you’ve done everything for the day and still got an hour to spend.
it can be done with randoms (did mine hardmode that way), it can be fun with randoms.
chances are though you gonna wipe for ever new reasons, giving you the feeling of putting your fingers into the hull of a sinking ship and still more pop up.
my "aaaw shiiiet here we go again " meter is filled pretty fast that way. normal auric maelstroms i can carry, but one ogryn can hardly solo 2 bosses + adds before his ammo runs out.
so given the nature of the special operation, i’m glad i got it over with and no desire to repeat it with no further pay-off
The only people that care about titles are the ones in the forum lol. Outside no cares. Hard mode twins insignia is arguably the only true indicator of skill.
Auric
Storm
Survior
The perfect acronym.
The problem is penances linked to something that is more a limited time event
Fair RE penances, though I’m not saying you can’t be a chad without it - just that someone who’s gone and done most penances for all archetypes surely has to be a chad and knows the game very well.
I can’t quite believe they made it a green title though. Literally the reward for completing almost all the penances is …green?! What were they thinking.
the remaining two can be a bit tedious. btw gz
I can thank a guy that explained us how to do it… he assigned each of us roles and we did it easily, once we have all understood what we had to do.
At first, I was the last alive, did a lot of damages, but everything failed.
When I sticked to my role (once explained), I ended with lowest damages dealt… but we did it and that’s what matters.
For the two last, I suppose in sedition difficulty it would be surely possible. The problem is to find enough skilled players that will accept to do it and not just trying to finish faster the mission.
Fancy title?
Fancy clothes?
No title?
Starter pajamas?
Might be a bit of a hot take, but i think that deliberately equipping low lvl cosmetics (because they are the lowest lvl cosmetics) is probably the most pretentious way to go about it.
At this point it’s a simple matter of subjective experience.
From what I’ve seen, the chance for a starter cosmetic wearing player with a level around the 200-300s to be a good player is much higher compared to someone decked out in ‘premium’ cosmetics with 1k+ levels on a single class. Those people always tend to fold and rage quit very quickly.
Worst of all are people into RPing though. I have yet to see one that had any semblance of skill. As I said, subjective experience.
Not everybody likes fancy looking outfits.
Half the games I play I just run around in pants and a vest or something. Or no shirt at all
Give me a basic sword or whatever and “some guy” as an outfit and I’m happy. Give me Thunderfury, Blessed Blade Of the Windseeker and I go “ew, get away.”
I was unreasonably happy running around with a sapper shovel on veteran combined with stealth because a stealth assassin murdering people with a shovel is hilarious to me conceptually.
