Delete Twitter

man why are people overreacting this hard? we never got anything before. the emojis arent great but theyre better than nothing.

They are basically nothing though. This is all interpretive stuff, which isn’t actual, empirical information, which is what people want. If anything this might actually be worse than nothing.

It is infantile, so it is worse then nothing.

I rather hear the silence, that be seen as a smooth brain kid.

Never attribute to malice that which can also be adequately explained by stupidity.

If we look at the body of their work and the pattern of their behavior, what reason exactly do we have to believe that this shitshow comes down to anything more than just them being lazy and dumb?

I’m tired boss. Can’t do that into infinitum.

I agree.

I also think that arrogance and an inflated ego plays a role in this. I bet there’s someone at Fatshark knowing exactly what the players need and is ready to ignore staggering amounts of feedback because he knows better.

See: the ‘crafting’ system and how it was a complete 180 from what the devs claimed they wanted, and to which only the most grudging and minute changes have been made.

I would like to point out that this is on the Helldivers twitter because it’s funny and it serves a larger point

  1. It’s a funny bit of world building of what living in the world is like and a glance into dealing with the daily red tape of Super Earth

  2. it’s easy engagement from players literally wanting to name a fictional goldfish

  3. It let’s people know that even during off weeks someone is still at the helm

A large part of being able to do stuff like this is good will but being active also helps. If the goldfish thing was the only tweet after basically months of silence then people would, understandably, be angry.

A large factor is also being able to read the room. When all we have had is wild speculation and you give people more wild speculation it’s not going to exactly win people over.

I think the emojis were also super mistimed, if anything it should have been emojis > skulls trailer > dev blog > release. A large part of entertainment and by extension engagement is timing and delivery. On top of that you need to actually know your audience and know what they want.

I think if anything a dev blog will still be well received since a man dying of dehydration will still appreciate a drop of water but god I hope they actually include some information in it.

I bet 1 000 000 000 Ordo dockets it will be written entirely in emojis like a contemporary form of hieroglyphics.

bruh dont you think you’re overreacting? theres a patch coming in less than a week who cares what they say well get to play it soon

They have a track record of overpromising and underdelivering. This isn’t my opinion, it can be verified independently. We have no reason to believe what they’re doing is going to be a positive change besides what they’ve vaguely said. Understandably, that doesn’t mean much. Like any other game developer that communicates its plans and changes clearly and effectively, they should just show what they mean to do. It would help build hype (assuming they’re good changes/additions) and it would give them early feedback from the community which would help guide them in making intelligent, informed decisions.

Not at all, they’ve been like this since Vermintide 1…

What everyone is really interested in is the “itemization - crafting” Dev blog so we know what they’re going to do

I think the most crazy thing about this is how it wasn’t even a player going “oh boy I hope they put out a dev blog”.

We literally were told “there will be multiple dev blogs” only for us to currently have 0 on the 20th. This is a repeat of the vet tree rework where it got released and it for some reason cost blatantly more than the other trees to get down.

I agree with the “delete twitter” concept, just on a grander scale. The entire platform is garbage, centered around feeding internet addicts a firehouse of unfiltered nonsense for outrage generation to get clicks for advertisers. There’s nothing of value on the platform, Fatshark’s postings most definitely included, and I have literally never seen someone’s Twitter profile and left with more respect for that person.

I generally consider Twitter usage to be an acute sign of mental distress, and boy does :pick: :gear: :ice_cube: start to look like a cry for help.

Gameplay stream in 4 minutes

If the melee gameplay is even somewhat engaging I think that’ll be my replacement for Darktide.

They are logging in for the sake of logging in.

Having watched it, it looks like it has everything darktide hasn’t. From the hub area, to the story, to weapon customization and a cool UI and even classes and coop features… I don’t understand how Darktide can look that bad in comparison, even 2 years after release.

here´s the thing, while it doesn´t “take” anything from my present gameplay experience, it leaves me “meh” instead of hyped up for things to come.

in a game that got me into warhammer, made me play more hours faster than any other in recent history.

a universe people literally give their bare skin for in form of tattoos etc.

we get emojis of “stuff”

when i was sitting off my time through school and couldn´t “escape” the usual back door due to some pencil pusher keeping book, i had a final doom manual in my books to pass the time enjoying the artwork therein.

no fancy story or page long explanations, no, just pixels of monsters ingame.
that was enough to free my mind and keep it spinning yearning for afternoon to come and hop into the game.

such a simple thing, yet here´s some emojis, solve the puzzle.

nope, i don´t think i will.

i´m here to crush heretics, squeeze their intestines on the floor and marvel at an environment i came to love so much for the sheer aestethics of it all.

Probably should have put this in my previous post, but thinking on it a bit more, this game has a credited Chief Marketing Officer, a Marketing Communications Director, a Digital Marketing Manager, two Marketing Managers, a Creative Marketing Lead, and a Public Relations Manager.

That’s 7 people with positions of authority and responsibility regarding marketing and communications, not counting Community Managers or anyone lower on the totem pole. None of them appear to think anything is wrong and are cool with these comms.

Given the state of this game, the fact that its mirroring Vermintide 2 play rates almost identically while competitors enjoy online player counts 10-15x that of Darktide, and that reviews are generally more negative than competitor titles across the board, coupled with the ubiquitously negative nature of responses to these sorts of posts, I don’t understand what these 7 people do to maintain their employment.

They aren’t hyping the product, they aren’t keeping the userbase engaged as it bleeds off players, they aren’t informing the Dev studios priorities (otherwise we’d have gotten Crafting and Itemization looooooooooooooong before Pennances and Double Barrel Shotguns and Picks), they aren’t attempting to do anything about the game’s thoroughly mediocre reputation, and they aren’t communicating the value of updates and new releases. If this is what they’re putting out, and between 7 different people in positions of authority nobody thinks there’s a problem, I think we’re probably safe to assume this title was never going to get properly fleshed out. Fatshark got its preorder cash and moved on for the most part.
