The lack of 2 handed and Dual-wielded weaponry is genuinely depressing.

It unironically is. I want more Shields, or even some Akimbo Weapons

(After they make Crafting better first, though)

Quite a few here that i don’t know remember

Ogryn

(Could have avoided putting class specific each time, either making paragraph, 1 for common weapon and 1 for specifics)

I think that with both the Rumbler and the Grenadier Gauntlet + Heavy Bolter I don’t really see the way it would work well (Though on a Veteran a Drum fed Grenade launcher would work well in my opinion)

You mean the Rotary Autocannon that are sported by the planes and such ? Cause those are way to big/heavy to be used even for an Ogryn.

If you want rotary guns for the Ogryn there are Rotor Cannon that are sometime sported by Voidsmen, so an Ogryn could in theory use one without weight nor size issues.

Additional from lore and other origin:

[details=““Six/Twelve” Mauler Cannon”]
An adaptation unique to the Spinward Front of the Calixis Sector, the Mauler Cannon is actually a modified, twin-barrelled M34 Autocannon designed specifically for use by Ogryns. Rebuilt with a heavier frame, shorter barrels, a fire-limiter, larger handholds, and a triple harness capable of withstanding an Ogryn’s strength, the Mauler Cannon gives Ogryn units an enormous boost to their firepower. Sadly Mauler Cannons have picked up the nickname “Six/Twelve” by regular guardsmen, referring to the number of shots an Ogryn will likely fire before they somehow break it or decide to use the weapon as a club.
[/details]

Spudjacker:

The Spud-Jacker is a type of wrench-like close combat weapon used by House Goliath gangers (And Slave Ogryn)

Psyker

Apart from the Chain Axe (which doesn’t really fit the Psyker ingame) it’s mostly alright. I’d add Force Sword&Dagger (As in combined kit), and Psyker melee weapon that aren’t Force (Biomantic Sword; Aetheric Sword and other variants). Also Psykana Mercy knives

Neither really fit, also when you say Hand Cannon you think of the Goliath from Necromunda ? The giant Revolver thingy, I think it’s already covered by our current Revolver tbh.
Also Ripper Pistol are the Poison ones no ? Not really much use against Nurglite troops

Psyker mostly need new staves, certain simply being adapted/retooled from Sienna’s arsenal, other being brand new

Plenty of things could be done with them, but 1st they should rework how the staves share names/blessings.

Zealot

Twinned/Paired weapons shouldn’t be restricted to much
I’m somewhat against Twinned Combat/Tactical axes, but most there should be shared with the Veteran (Also they should have separate Power Swords and not reuse the same one to avoid making 1 very strong or making the weapon less great): Catachan Sword and Dagger; Twin Catachan Swords; Twinned Catachan Dagger

Like the Catachan knife ?

What would those be ? Noting that the Flamer will have 2 variants too (Witchburner and Incinerati)

And what is that ? The Shotgun from the Navis ?

I just kinda threw the Automatic Grenade Launcher in there because it sounds fun, but I’m in agreement that it’d be odd to implement without breaking it in some fashion.

Apologies for the Punisher Cannon, I mistook it for the name of a different kind of Autocannon and forgot to remove it during the editing phase! Thank you for reminding me!

I’ll definitely look into adding Spudjackers and Mauler Cannons to the list after reading into them!

I just threw the 2H Chain Axe in for Psyker because Psykers can use Chain Axes anyway from my memory (although I could be tweaking) so I kinda went “screw it!”

When I said “Hand Cannon” I mean more like a Heavy Stub Pistol (kind of how we have a Heavy Laspistol compared to a standard Laspistol) rather than a kind of Stub Revolver. I can see how that was confusing, so my apologies! I didn’t consider the poison + Nurgle factor for the Ripper Pistol, so that one’s on the fence now.

Agreed on the new Staves. I’d be more than happy to indulge myself with a few more of Auntie Sienna’s old Staves  (I might just copy and paste their names here on the list for the Psyker’s sake!)

For the Akimbo Axes I just kinda threw those in for Slayer mains who might enjoy that, thought it’d be fun and all. I’ll rethink it!

For any kind of Dagger, I’m kinda hung up on them, I want them to be unique from the Combat Blades, but they’re… I can take them or leave them.

In regards to Flamers, I want a variant that is more like an actual flamethrower, maybe with less spread but increased ranged to puncture holes in hordes from afar, rather than withering them away when they get really close. Not sure about other variants but I’m open to suggestions!

The Shotcannon is just the drum-mag Shotgun that Scab Shotgunners use!

Edit 1-2: I fixed some mistakes.

That’s a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge list. :joy:

Personally I’m a huge fan of asymmetric design, so I think all I want rn is these and in this order:

  1. Psyker - We haven’t gotten a single new staff ever. We’ve also never had a proper anti-boss / elite staff (Void & Surge aren’t it) at all, nor a proper long range staff that can actually hit enemies that randomly change directions every 0.2 seconds as opposed to what Void tries to do. Yet with after the class overhaul and Illisi, we finally have plenty of ways to deal with horde, specials or CC that aren’t a staff. With that in mind, I want something like VT2’s bolt staff, but with a seriously ridiculously powerful hitscan secondary. It should have a crazy long chargeup and / or massive peril cost, like 60%+ per fully charged shot, to keep it balanced. It should also have a different primary. This would address all the points above and finally give us a way to nuke something in particular. So: A purely single target specialized staff with insane range & dmg, but seriously lacking in the CC & AoE & peril efficiency that other staves do well.

  2. Zelly - Some kinda offensive sword & shield combo. Zellies don’t have any defensive or utility weapons aside from the Crusher, but they aren’t thematically defensive either. So a weapon that would add a lot of tankiness but come at a cost of say, either cleave or single target dmg. So what if they had a kind of a buckler, a small shield that worked a bit differently from oggy’s. The weapon special would work like parry against melee, but not actually deal dmg, just cause them to recoil and open them up to attacks. Meanwhile, while normal blocking wouldn’t work against ranged (or maybe like idk, 50% chance to block ranged?), the weapon special would temporarily block all ranged. The special should have a small internal CD of a few seconds to require timing instead of being spammable. But these would make it a frontline aggressive weapon where zellies could even storm ranged head on by combining dodges, slides and that weapon special. The push attack could be a strong shield bash with great stagger and AoE.

  3. Vet - I just want a proper sniper for them really. I’m talking a huuuuuge long gun with big powerful sounds and massive damage. To differ from plasma and revolver, it should be slow, unwieldy, have a tiny clip size and limited cleave, but also get a proper scope with great zoom, maybe even a display that painted priority targets right around the crosshair for you when in ADS. Something similar to the staff I suggested earlier, but even stronger. Vets don’t have other clearing options besides melee and the occasional nade. So this gun would come at a great cost and many weaknesses as a whole, but it would let them 1-shot anything from muties to crusher to anything else easily and absolutely destroy bosses. And its sheer base power would free up many of the +dmg talents other builds need, giving its builds more utility and versatility choices to compensate and balance it as a whole.

  4. Oggy - This is simple: A 2h melee weapon that just screamed “oggy!”. Something super slow and ridiculously strong. The player would have to be good at dodging, sliding, positioning etc to even stay alive with how slow this thing would be, but it would really seriously hurt any enemy it touched. Like our version of the Crusher overhead strike that you just do not want to hit you ever. Something to really display that tremendous oggy strength.

My list does cover all of those things except for anti-Big 'un Staves! I feel that my Voidstrike is… good enough for it, but I get where you’re coming from. The Staves are a bit of a complicated issue, because most of the new ones will probably be gifts from our dear Auntie Sienna - but it’s not like Fatshark is likely to give them the same names here. I’ll probably just copy and paste their names from Vermintide 2 here when I get the motivation!

More staves, gimme!

Regardless of how good a gun Psyker may be, I can play any of the other 3 classes if I want to use guns. I need more Warp shenanigans in my life

Good news for y’all, I’m updating the wishlist to include some new Staves!

ROCK AND STONE-

I… what is this?

Those don’t really work. Lorewise they are forbidden tech and only available for the Solar Auxilia in 30k.

And they wouldn’t be able to switch weapon. But attaching a Siege Drill fist on a Grenadier Gauntlet wouldn’t break much lore and work with the system

Noted, would be neat trade off however, getting a gun you reloaded by holstering and then having to use your off hand for a gun while your other hand is taken up by a drill.

I don’t think they would work for a PC weapon; I don’t think that either our combat system or our class system would allow for all-melee classes like we had in VT2. But they would be perfectly doable for an ogryn rager type of enemy unit. In that case they need not be specifically Charonite units but just whatever melee nastiness grafted on via chirugery or chaos mutation.

Honestly… as long as I get a Storm Shield and a Meltagun for my Zealot, I’m a happy Crusader.

https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ogryn_Berserker

Yeah those exist in current lore.

Legit question, rule of cool aside, what would a Meltagun do in Darktide aside from be a shorter ranged and slower firing Plasma gun? The types of things a Meltagun is really valuable against in the fluff and tabletop game are tanks and monsters. For killing infantry, Meltaguns are typically not terribly efficient weapons, even against big infantry like Ogryn or Chaos Spawn something like a plasma gun will generally hurt such targets just as easily, but with double the range and rate of fire, and Darktide just doesn’t feature anything beefier where the Melta’s assets really come into play.

Again, not hating on the cool factor part, but just thinking about how weapons would actually play if reflected accurately, and would a Meltagun actually be fun and useful?

I want a drill and a flamer and a plasma pistol and some C4.

I assume that a Meltagun would probably function as a Crusher-killing close ranged weapon, kind of like my Ogryn’s Kickback

Honestly, anything for the Zealot that actually functions as a Heavy Weapon since the Bolter’s just been so… not Bolter?

Hotshot Lsagun (hell gun)
Hotshot Pistol
Hotshot Marksman Rifle- Common
Hotshot Vollgy gun. Outcast Engi Style Ultimate.

Hotshot Lasgun, shouldn’t rely on Ammo pick up but HP as your Syphoning energy from sources like Medi-kits, And Medi Stations. it also adds a deeper layer of Game-play then picking up, (Hotshot marksman rifle exmpted OFC. )

the issue is Class people say Class Specfic you just Satated the Classes and since we don’t have Classes as it was in v2. your bassically saying Archtye specific so what archtype would you start limting it from Aura, Biltz, Ultimate, Keystone?
