Weapons Wishlist

Two handed chain axe for zealot: Essentially the same weapon the scav maulers use; slow wide sweeping heavies for crowd control, medium speed single target lights for big guys. Should be even slower to swing and draw than the eviscerator, but with more damage.

Power fist for veteran and maybe zealot: Cadian commanders and sergeants use these on the tabletop sometimes, and I think it would make for an extremely satisfying melee weapon. Should have a combination of jabs, hooks, and uppercuts for it’s light attack chain, and a big uppercut, followed by a cleaving cross for it’s heavy attacks. It would have a similar activation ability to the power maul; charge up the weapon, for one devastating punch.

Belt, or drum fed auto guns for veteran and maybe zealot: Cadian sergeants also use these on the table top sometimes. We have some good high rate of fire auto guns, but none with a really awesome ammo capacity. The weapon should be cumbersome, and unwieldy like a bolt gun, but still posses similar damage to standard auto guns to ensure it still feels powerful.

Heavy flamer for zealot and veteran: I mean, the dreg and scav flamers have them, why can’t the inquisition requisition us some? Slow to draw, and cumbersome to move with like the bolter, but with improved range, and damage, when compared to the standard flamer.

Hot-shot lasgun for veteran: It should come in three distinct variations like a standard lasgun;
Blue frame: large magazine size, high rate of fire, fully automatic when fired from the hip, and when aiming down sight. Low damage, and high spread to compensate.
Green frame: average stats across the board, with one major caveat, its full auto when hip fired, and semi auto when aiming down the sights. Should make it a bit more versatile.
Orange frame: semi auto when hip fired, and when aiming down the sights, high damage and accuracy to compensate.
All hot-shot patterns should deal less base damage than plasma guns, bolters, and maybe even Lucius pattern lasguns, but have much better armor piercing capabilities, and be able to pierce multiple targets. Also, I’m pretty sure hot-shots project white hot beams of energy, instead of red.

Plasma pistol for all human classes: a weaker version of the standard plasma gun, with a higher fire rate, and fantastic mobility. A good high damage special killer, for all non ogryn classes.

Bolt pistol for all human classes: less accurate, and more unwieldy than the heavy stubber revolver, but has a higher fire rate, and more damage. Essentially, a close quarters burst damage alternative to the heavy stubber revolver.

Melta gun for veteran and maybe zealot: I envision the melta-gun working like a big ass Lucius pattern lasgun. Heavy and slow, with a long charge time, but big damage.

Heavy bolter for ogryn: the only weapon that might feel cumbersome in an ogryns hands. Huge damage potential, but unwieldy as hell to operate.

Multi Melta for ogryn: A normal human probably couldn’t wield a muti melta, but and ogryn, why not? Would be even more devastating than standard melta gun, but chew through its ammo much more quickly.

Grenade launcher for veteran and maybe zealot: some guardsmen can carry a six chambered, rotary grenade launcher on the table top, and I think it would make a badass addition to darktide. Maybe give it a mechanic like the shotguns, where you can load a single round of special ammo, like incendiary grenades, or flechette.

Missile launcher for veteran: heavy weapon squads, and the Armageddon steel legion use these babies on the tabletop. Should be extremely cumbersome to wield, with low spare ammo, but huge damage, and large blast radius.

Warp ice staff for psyker: should allow you to cover enemies in slowing ice with it’s primary fire, and let you create and shoot ice spikes at enemies for high damage with it’s charged mode.

Warp leech staff for psyker: Primary fire lets you slowly, and painfully extract warp energy form enemies. Once you’ve collected enough energy, your secondary fire would release devastating eldritch tentacle based attacks. I’m thinking something like, summoning a pit of spiky tentacles to chew at your enemies for a time.

So yeah, these are just a few weapons i think would be cool to see in the game at some point. If there are any cool WH40K weapons you want too see added, reply to this post with your suggestion! Have a great day everyone, and PRAISE THE GOD EMPEROR!

Some were already leaked (Melta and 2h Chain Axe), but from your list:

Plasma Pistol: Should be Vet only

Bolt Pistol: Should be Vet and Zealot only

Power Fist: Should not be a weapon on its own, but a side weapon, like having Pistol, Sword, or other paired with the Power Fist.
Making the Power Fist into the special attack, where using it charge the Power Fist and then release it when charged, can be released sooner to punch more quickly but at the cost of power/damage.

Hotshot/Hellgun should not be a regular weapon, as it would simply end up invalidating the Lasgun, Should be a class ability like how the Outcast Engineer does, but for a Veteran Stormtrooper.

Heavy Flamer: honestly not needed atm, I’d we get more Flamer, it should be for new patterns/variants that work differently, like a Flame Burst Flamer (Better ranged but doesn’t have a continous stream of flames)

Belt fed Autogun: Not sure why it’s needed, we already have Brauto for the heavy autogun. Much rather have new stuff that has mechanic.

Missile Launcher: not sure it’s really a needed weapon and would make sense

I like your suggestions about the power fist and hotshot lasguns! But about the belt fed autogun, your missing the point… Its BELT FED. That’s like, a thousand times cooler than just a regular old braced auto gun. As for the missile launcher, yeah I’m not sure how it would fit in. But again, think how cool it would be! Thanks for your reply!

I´m up for any new weapons, but we really don´t need another flamer, especially wtih more range and damage…

Flamer is already hard to balance for FS and might need a complete rework in its own. But also if it would happen and the flamer would be in a perfect state gameplay-wise, “just another flamer” wouldn´t bring something to the gameplay itself.
And while i don´t mind weapon-variants in general, just looking at a bunch of existing ones let me doubt that we need more of them aswell. It would better to bring completely new stuff like you´ve suggested.

I see where you’re coming from, but in my opinion, not every weapon needs to be groundbreaking. So long as it’s cool, and fun too use, that’s a win in my book! I just find a heavy flamer, to be much cooler looking, and more satisfying too use in practice. I want a big backpack fuel tank for my flamer, like the m2’s used in WW2 AND Vietnam. Thanks for your reply!

Shovel that uses Bret sword moveset!!!

They could actually bring some sick skins for weapons instead of the bit of painted ones we´ve. Introduce them in the cashshop and through achievements. Or maybe go the way to get 50% off on the price if you´ve finished some penances with the weapon, dunno. (Or introduce new penances once you´ve bought the skin and finshing them will give you some Aquilas back.)

In kind of flamer they could come with a heavy badass-skin that would suit your preferences i guess. Maybe give us the option to color the flames aswell. (Deep red, orange, light blue, blue, green).
And if that´s not enough, might bring a blessing that turns the cone into a smaller line but longer range for example. That´s how poeple could tweak their gameplay without the need or effort to bring and balance new variants in itself.

EDIT: The colors could also be based on the blessings like:

  • Normal – orange
  • Extended range, but smaller cone – green
  • More damage but way less range – blue
  • Leaves ground-effects, but less impact-damage – deep red
  • Anti-armor but doubled ammo-consume - light blue

Whatever you can imagine.

Imagine all the balance arguments if this lot gets added in

@Darth_Angeal That is brilliant! I get my heavy flamer, no one gets their toes stepped on. Love it!

The Ogryn has a belt fed Stubber already

Until darth decides its too power powerful and it gets nerfed into the ground :stuck_out_tongue:

Imagine this,

You get your heavy flamer and its great whoosh! dead heretics toasty. You take a short break come back after its been nerfed you press the trigger and a lighter flame pops out the end.

Then you die.

Then when you complain your mighty heavy flamer became this

images

They tell you its a skill issue and to get good  Or that is was a crutch flamer and only noobs use it

@Rieven Are you ok lol?

Yeh not bad all things considered how are you?

@Heretical_Cactus Yes, but the human classes don’t. The twin linked heavy stubber is like a browning m2. I want a squad automatic weapon like the browning 30 cal for the other classes.

Would you take it over let say, a Plasma Pistol, Melta Gun, Bolt Pistol…

Like even for weapons that are in the low hanging fruit kinda thing, like Twin Revolver (Easy, model exist, Twin Pistol existed in Vt2) Twin Chain Axes (Same as Twin Revolver, but with Twin Axes), Ogryn Maul and Knife (Same as before, but with Kruber’s Mace and Sword) it would be more interesting to have than an Autogun but Belt fed

Best implementation for this for human classes, but Ogryn should have dedicated fist weapons. They’re big enough that it would make sense.

I want to see more pistol/melee dual wield options, like Saltzpyre’s pistol/rapier in VT. I know it’s hard to make it work in a FPS but it’s been a thing in 40k forever and it feels weird that it’s not in the game.

If fatshark doesnt add powerfist to the game that will be a huge missed opportunity. All these weapon suggestions are great, but powerfist is my most desired addition.

There are a lot of weapons I’d like to see. But my current biggest wish is a Breacher Shield + Shotgun combo.

@Heretical_Cactus I see what you mean. But keep in mind, all of the weapons I’ve listed aren’t an I NEED THEM RIGHT NOW kind of suggestion. They are just some fun suggestions for future updates. I personally find the auto guns we have right now to be incredibly bland, and a belt fed auto gun is not only in the lore, but would be more interesting to operate. Fancier reload animation, 100+ round capacity, lots of potential for mowing down hoards of pox walkers. You have to understand, I’m a huge gun nut in real life, so complex feeding mechanisms are about as interesting to me as a whole new pattern of weapon. Thanks for your reply!

If the game had actual weapon customization hotshot packs would be a good alt fire option for lasguns. Instead of a flashlight you get a few seconds of high damage, high ammo consumption shots.

Helguns could be their own thing, but I imagine it would have to be something more like an LMG for suppressing big groups or melting bosses.
