Two handed chain axe for zealot: Essentially the same weapon the scav maulers use; slow wide sweeping heavies for crowd control, medium speed single target lights for big guys. Should be even slower to swing and draw than the eviscerator, but with more damage.
Power fist for veteran and maybe zealot: Cadian commanders and sergeants use these on the tabletop sometimes, and I think it would make for an extremely satisfying melee weapon. Should have a combination of jabs, hooks, and uppercuts for it’s light attack chain, and a big uppercut, followed by a cleaving cross for it’s heavy attacks. It would have a similar activation ability to the power maul; charge up the weapon, for one devastating punch.
Belt, or drum fed auto guns for veteran and maybe zealot: Cadian sergeants also use these on the table top sometimes. We have some good high rate of fire auto guns, but none with a really awesome ammo capacity. The weapon should be cumbersome, and unwieldy like a bolt gun, but still posses similar damage to standard auto guns to ensure it still feels powerful.
Heavy flamer for zealot and veteran: I mean, the dreg and scav flamers have them, why can’t the inquisition requisition us some? Slow to draw, and cumbersome to move with like the bolter, but with improved range, and damage, when compared to the standard flamer.
Hot-shot lasgun for veteran: It should come in three distinct variations like a standard lasgun;
Blue frame: large magazine size, high rate of fire, fully automatic when fired from the hip, and when aiming down sight. Low damage, and high spread to compensate.
Green frame: average stats across the board, with one major caveat, its full auto when hip fired, and semi auto when aiming down the sights. Should make it a bit more versatile.
Orange frame: semi auto when hip fired, and when aiming down the sights, high damage and accuracy to compensate.
All hot-shot patterns should deal less base damage than plasma guns, bolters, and maybe even Lucius pattern lasguns, but have much better armor piercing capabilities, and be able to pierce multiple targets. Also, I’m pretty sure hot-shots project white hot beams of energy, instead of red.
Plasma pistol for all human classes: a weaker version of the standard plasma gun, with a higher fire rate, and fantastic mobility. A good high damage special killer, for all non ogryn classes.
Bolt pistol for all human classes: less accurate, and more unwieldy than the heavy stubber revolver, but has a higher fire rate, and more damage. Essentially, a close quarters burst damage alternative to the heavy stubber revolver.
Melta gun for veteran and maybe zealot: I envision the melta-gun working like a big ass Lucius pattern lasgun. Heavy and slow, with a long charge time, but big damage.
Heavy bolter for ogryn: the only weapon that might feel cumbersome in an ogryns hands. Huge damage potential, but unwieldy as hell to operate.
Multi Melta for ogryn: A normal human probably couldn’t wield a muti melta, but and ogryn, why not? Would be even more devastating than standard melta gun, but chew through its ammo much more quickly.
Grenade launcher for veteran and maybe zealot: some guardsmen can carry a six chambered, rotary grenade launcher on the table top, and I think it would make a badass addition to darktide. Maybe give it a mechanic like the shotguns, where you can load a single round of special ammo, like incendiary grenades, or flechette.
Missile launcher for veteran: heavy weapon squads, and the Armageddon steel legion use these babies on the tabletop. Should be extremely cumbersome to wield, with low spare ammo, but huge damage, and large blast radius.
Warp ice staff for psyker: should allow you to cover enemies in slowing ice with it’s primary fire, and let you create and shoot ice spikes at enemies for high damage with it’s charged mode.
Warp leech staff for psyker: Primary fire lets you slowly, and painfully extract warp energy form enemies. Once you’ve collected enough energy, your secondary fire would release devastating eldritch tentacle based attacks. I’m thinking something like, summoning a pit of spiky tentacles to chew at your enemies for a time.
So yeah, these are just a few weapons i think would be cool to see in the game at some point. If there are any cool WH40K weapons you want too see added, reply to this post with your suggestion! Have a great day everyone, and PRAISE THE GOD EMPEROR!
