Changed my review from positive to negative after the Crafting Dev-Blog.
Sorry, but game and playerbase is not for me.

ā€œRock and Stoneā€

I’ve played Deep Rock Galactic. Incredibly overrated.

The player base that are still playing are not for you, but i understand your sentiment.

Sad, but you have to do this if it is your feeling.
I will change it to positive WHEN we will have the crafting in game.
I perfectly know there are things that are not fixed (Rashad Combat Axe is the first I would like to see fixed…), but with crafting I can play and enjoy the game.

Obviously not every game is for everyone. But ā€œoverwhelming positiveā€ reviews on DRG seem to show enough vs ā€œmostly negativeā€ for DT, that one game formula works while other one does not. Everygame will have people who don’t like that, but it’s easy to see which one won hearts of their playerbase and which one failed hard.

finally asked for a refund, 20 hours played (in the menu) and 3 months later, we will see if the game fairs any better or is still alive 1-2 years from now

After this Dev blog, I can understand anyone who changes their recommendation.

Still unfinished, no eta, nothing changes, neither do they listen to feedback nor are they willing to do honest communication, but continue with corpo talk and politricks like i’ve rarely seen.
It’s the same reasons i disliked VT1 and didnt buy VT2, but it was WH40k that made me have some fun hours playing and immersing.
I thought i can deal with the rest and overcome most of it, but with the actual low pop and playerbase more problems showed up for me, so i cannot have fun anymore.

Being real with the state that it released in the game should have launched into early access but I imagine publishers wouldn’t have wanted that.

Even then going over the content that’s there it isn’t much levels wise. We have 14 levels total now (which are locked behind a randomized mission and difficulty selection and not all of them were on release), 4 classes which have some huge balance flaws, an honestly pretty good amount of weapons but locked behind rng, and I guess half a crafting system?

On top of that there are a lot of bugs ranging from just minor clipping to map weirdness such as falling through the world to outright game breaking stuff like hard crashes and connection errors.

Really the only thing that felt like it was fully working on release was the cosmetics shop. Every time someone asks if I recommend the game I go ā€œehhhhhā€ and have to preface my enjoyment with a bunch of qualifiers.

The basic gameplay loop is great and reminds me of the fun i had with L4D when it first came out and the combat feels tight but everything around the central gameplay loops feels either unfinished or like it’s taking away from the gameplay.

FS sets the tone titling us ā€œRejectsā€ in every form of communication, but yeah I agree. Copium Irony is divine comedy.

From performance (fps drops, game crashes), through bugs (unfunctioning talents, blessings, perks, clipping models of 13e prized cosmetics, npcs walking through walls, appearing out of thin air, unfunctioning/game-crashing graphical options) ā€˜ā€˜AI’’ of bots, ā€˜ā€˜story’’, ā€˜ā€˜weapon modification and crafting’’, to ā€˜ā€˜great’’ game designs (rng based map selection, loot aquiring, weapon modifications), map, weapon and talents (builds) ā€˜ā€˜variety’’ and ā€˜ā€˜diversity’’…

I think lead designer/CEO starting a FS developement team meeting with words ā€˜ā€˜Hello fellow rejects…’’ is very spot on.

Also using scummy psychological tricks, to try convince people of importance of their feedback giving them false sense of having any impact on developement design decisions of this game, while completely ignoring it at the end… gg.

Here’s what needs to happen for me to change my review to positive:

  • Account wide inventory.
  • Complete crafting.
  • Ranged enemies being toned down / melee being propped up.
  • Map selection.
  • Buffed worthless class feats/perks/blessings.
  • Weeklies not being garbage, also account wide.
  • A second subclass p/class.
  • Either making all weapons viable, or adding more weapons. Being an ogryn main is sad town.

The longer they take the higher my expectations get, considering the straight up lies we’ve gotten for months.

Who cares if you like the game, then play it. The game is not perfect. FS over time will fix that. If you don’t want to wait, play something else. I for one never go on gamers opinions about games. Most times they are just toxic cause the game is not what ā€œTHEYā€ want it to be. Until most of those gamers make games of their own, no game will ever be the way they want it to be.

Ah yes very glad the usual suspects came out with the hits.

ā€œIt’s just your opinionā€

ā€œWell I’M having funā€

ā€œIt will be good in a yearā€

ā€œWell you should need to make a game to comment on itā€

It’s always really lukewarm boilerplate statements that don’t actually acknowledge anything and just try to steamroll it with toxic positivity because actually acknowledging why things are wrong would require reflection beyond ā€œI like the product because I paid for itā€

Noting to do with paying for it. I like the core of the game. It was much the same with VT1 and VT2. Issues in the beginning. They will fix it. If all you want to do is be negative about it, maybe you should take up another game until they do. Then you can come back and enjoy it. We all want this game to be what it should. Yeah, it suck it is not now. Yeah it sucks we have to wait for it to get there. Beating a dead horse won’t make it happen any quicker. And neither will casting judgement on people that are more patient than you are.

That’s the problem, based off the last dev post no they don’t, I don’t think they do understand what the problem is and I doubt they are really going to fix it beyond slapping a bandaid on it and calling it a day. The reason people are ā€œbeating a dead horseā€ is because it’s painfully clear that if they don’t cause a big enough stink about it then nothing will get fixed.

If they wanted people to wait a year or be patient they should have released it into early access. If they wanted people not to be mad about just how bad the progression system is they should have actually done anything to show they understand what the core issues are. Maybe it should have been in the cooker longer rather than releasing as is.

Yeah I don’t think people are in the wrong for being pissed that they essentially were sold an early access game at full price where others just straight up can’t play at times. But I’m glad the cosmetics shop works without issue, that’s pretty cool. Like I’m glad you have patience but we really shouldn’t have to wait a year after a game comes out just for it to be playable and have some basic features like crafting or being able to play the missions they want.

You’ve really got to look up some definitions before posting next time.

But i never understood cheerleaders for the downfall of franchises they say they enjoy, so maybe it’s again a me problem, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, a player as toxic as you quits the game, that’s just a plain improvement to the community. So go ahead :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, i disagree - don’t get me wrong, if there are flaws i’m sure other player will have found them and had more problems with them. I barely got the time to play, so… maybe i just enjoy it because i haven’t ā€œbingedā€ it?

My problem with the community is a toxic negativity. Reviewbombing and that crap. THAT is even less constructive, and an unfair punishment for the devs. I mean they are working on improvements, right? But i’ve seen people commenting that they changed their reviews AFTER the devs confirmed that changes are coming and asked for a bit more patience.

That is at the least entitlement, if not toxicity. And it is not constructive in the least.
