Darktide is Mostly negative on Steam with 39% recent reviews

Mostly negative is pretty diabolical really, although it’ll surely stop dropping and stabilise soon. Whether it recovers is entirely dependent upon how fast FS move as I think it’s a horrible balancing act of speed of delivery of improvements vs effective delivery vs rising cost of servers with diminishing income.

It could actually go like Back for Blood and be unsupported within a year, servers close in 2 maybe 3 years. ~This will be a sad thing and yet another W40k game dies on it’s arse.

wow ^^

This is turning into an epic fail indeed.

Such a shame, the game has much potential.

One simple solution would be to add the new skins to grind for. Like kill a boss 100 times etc, that in combination with weapons would make the grind fun.

As it is now the reward for grinding once max lvl feels very small. I already have most skins one can grind for already…

If they added a few skins every month then people would have this to grind for and the game would be much better… But instead they choose the greedy route and only have a few “free” skins and all the cool stuff behind a pay wall (expensive one at that) Greed Shark, it will bite them in the end.

If there is reason to grind people will buy the expansions, where they add new weapons, maps and enemies. They could even keep the possibility to buy the new skins, but just make them attainable by grind also.

Simple solution, but no no ^^ Must suck every dollar from the players.

They are a company. Giving free skin won’t make me happy. Seeing the game finished will.

Yeah having a finished game seems kind of given ;D

The skin thing is just a suggestion to keep players playing so they buy the other DLC:s, i think they would make much more money with that concept. Instead of being short sighted and greedy would make them more money.

They could even add the skins to the DLC:s so people would have to pay to get access to the new skins (grind for them). I would not have a problem with that either, but charging 10-20$ for a few skins is just plain greed and ridiculous. Do you think it takes 50% of the time to make those skins compared to making this whole (though incomplete) game? ^^

This is a grind game, there is no single player story or anything, thus the game is a grind. A grind for something, as it is now its just new weapons and lvl the characters. And they stripped the skins for cash grab, one could argue that the skins should be in the game as a part of the game.

What’s next? They will only let people lvl up if they pay a fee? Or you can only get higher gear if you pay?

**** this, people need to wake up and take a stand against this crap before it goes out of hand, and it will as long as people buy into it.

Unless Fatshark at least reduces the insane grind and improves the garbage optimization I will not give it a positive review.

They don’t need to make money through microtransactions; they are majorily owned by Tencent, meaning they have a near infinite pond of money at their disposal.
Micro-transactions will not go to the devs.
It will go to upper management, CEOs and to stock-owners.
How FS should earn their money is make a finished game that everyone wants to buy and keep playing because it’s fun. Word of mouth and good reviews is how they would achieve that, and it would guarantee that players stay loyal and buy their next game; with Darktide however, they shot themselves in the foot, perhaps for the last time.
They should take lessons from Capcom with their Monster Hunter franchise; a fully released game on launch, which is enhanced with a free content update every other month.
Tomorrow, on the 7th, free content update #4 for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will release, giving players a returning dragon to hunt, and another empowered dragon that came with the latest game. It also adds more features and upgrades, armor sets and weapons for the players to collect.
Fatshark should strive to be like Capcom, because Capcom knows how to sell their game and retain players for years after release.

Bloody hellfire @ArkBlanc are you somehow suggesting companies provide a finished product to their customers?!!

Large swathes of the gaming industry are alughing from their swimming pool full of cash.

Youre right though.

I’m just so glad I grew up in the 90’s and experienced so many good finished games.
Feel sorry for the Gen Z getting all this crap in their childhood, making them think games that are unfinished on release, chock-full of microtransactions is completely justifiable and all right.

More bad is they learn to answer toxicity torwards them with more toxicity and it works.
It’s a downwards spirale to a more and more aggressive society.

The dark age of gaming, when the server lights go off the game disappears with it.

This is my biggest concern about gaming today. Owning a physical copy of a game no longer guarantees the ability to play it in the future.

Hello guys,

Is there any possibility to get refund when I have bought this game on release day?
After few months, the game is still incomplete. Or am I limited to 2 weeks after buyin?

Send refund request in to Steam Support explaining why you think you need a refund outside of the 2-hour window; send a ticket in to Fatshark Support and maybe they can help you get one

Thanks, I have sent.

Rock and Stone!

fCannot get refund. Official Steam reply. :frowning: So I need to wait few years to playable version on this game. For sure this was the last purchase Fatshark game :frowning:

Spoiled brats reviewbombing. I’d say ignore it, same as it is advised to ignore all forms of toxicity on social media… except don’t. Don’t ignore it per se, just don’t let it get you down. I’ve had a blast with this game and i’m still having a blast. I haven’t reached endgame yet, i’m not finishing high intensity damnation like a cakewalk. And i’m patient, i can wait for more crafting options…
So yeah. Don’t let it get you down, this is still one of the best 40k gaming experiences, and certainly the freshest. I hope the developers keep listening to feedback though. Just keep in mind, the toxic kind of feedback is being provided by spoiled brats.

If you’re so patient, you would’ve been fine waiting another year for them to actually finish the game. You’re complaining that the rest of us want a complete experience that lives up to projected expectations? Spoiled for wanting something that functions? It’s like a bizzaro karen.

Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me. Rest of opinions are not valid. All negative reviews are not true at all, becasue I, becasue Me, becasue Myself. Everything but MY opinion is “toxicity”.

And then putting “spoiled brats” in the same post. Oh, the irony of entitlement.

Copium comedy in Modern Gaming setting at best people.
