Daemonhosts should drop Plasteel

Yeah that would be cool , but I think DH should get a rework or atleast some sort of reward otherwise it’s just a possibly deadly decoration.

The Demonhost is basically the witch from Left for Dead, it’s a threat you a supposed to avoid. At least we don’t have to deal with wandering Demonhosts yet.

I actually agree here. I often used to farm DHs to count for monstrosities. They shouldn’t. Just like patrols in VT, pulling one should always be a net negative. Patrols you can of course pull safely to just get them out of the way if they patrol in a risky manner, but DHs you can just always side skip.

But this discussion was up for patrols as well. They should drop something. It’s good they never did.

Hell no. There’s no shot this works out in any capacity.

Scenario 1: A moderate plasteel bonus to the game. Say 50 or so.

People will now aggro them far more often causing more team wipes. Lost matches get dramatically less plasteel. Net loss in plasteel.

Scenario 2: It rewards a LARGE amount of plasteel. 150+ . It is now mandatory to kill these things. You will now be considered a troll of you don’t have at least one good daemonhost killing weapon, and maybe some talents with them in mind.

Build variety is forcefully narrowed for efficiency.

Small netgain on plasteel. Game is less fun though.

There are many sub scenarios that can stem from these 2, but none are good.

Def down for bosses dropping like 25-40 plasteel though.

Crazy how many people somehow still don’t understand the design intent of demonhosts and make this same dumbass post.

No, this is an unfathomably stupid request.

There is 0 way you can give demonhosts any kind of rewards, if you do then every run is basically “we must kill demonhosts , dat plasteel”. Sure I know some would love this but it literally defeats the point of an enemy you should only fight as a last resort.

Yes I also agree that 90% of the times demonhosts are just badly placed landmines and they could be designed to maybe give a debuffing aura in their immediate vicinity or something extra.
But there are also those times where you got 6 snipers and 10 gunners stacked right on top of one and you just got to deal with that crap or you cannot advance. Their area denial in some of those higher density situation’s can sometimes be super annoying.

I can get that arguement, still wish they would do something more then just sit there and have a monologue.

Crazy how many people do understand the design intent of demonhosts and think it’s incredibly boring and a waste of a miniboss having it just sit there like the glorified landmine it is. just because L4D made the witch that way 15 years ago doesn’t mean Fatshark can’t go there own way. Fact is that thing is incredibly useless and it’s not even that hard to kill.

They make me super nervous if that makes you feel any better.

I’ve been thrown into one by a silent mutant, and that basically ended the run. That one sure as sh*t didn’t just sit there as it had a veteran land on its head.

They’re a fine piece of game design that creates tension (at least for me) when they’re placed in the middle of a frequently traveled path. This can create more tense fights as you are working with less kiting space, or forced to go down side areas that are potentially more dangerous than the typical route.

I don’t think they need to be anymore than they are right now.

Bosses should drop rewards. like v2 with loot dice, they should drop something that can be reclaimed on mission wether success or not, a Drop a upgrading a Rarity on emperor’s rewards or rerolling a Weapon state. as the way itis currently when a mini boss is spawned it is a simple matter of damage buff then delete. as you don’t want to wait around for too long to achieve anything from it. since from experinece within a 1-3 minutes of boss spawning their a Horde. and fighting both is just a annoying. fighting 2 boss and a horde is painful. and fighting a boss and horde around a DH is just nightmarish. as note only a stray shot trigger said DH but also being Shoved, thrown or spat out near the DH can trigger it.

why not just nerf it and make it a normal random Moster

Rather make Hadron give you plasteel in addition to the Blessing unlock, for surrendering a weapon to her.

Daemon Hosts are not random monsters, they’re extremely rare because of the difficulties to make one without it becoming a gibbering chaos spawn or permanent warp portal for daemons to utilize…
