Daemonhost purpose?

once dh killed it will add 1 random item once the run complete, lets say if there was 2 dh in a run and both was killed once u complete the run team will get 3 random items can be max at 3.
(then will be reason kill dh for all team members not only for me coz i just love kill them for fun lol)

Let’s not give further incentives to hoarding ammo boxes

Also DH should have give an incentive to facing them (Yes there is a penance but its only facing a DH once)

agree this may be a problem when ppl start hoard and not use them (didnt think this way)
but dh can be nice to kill and get additional item lets say per run or some.

It exists purely to test your faith in the god emperor

The Daemonhost isn’t there to be fought, it’s essentially an environmental obstacle/trap. It’s a descendant of the Witch from Left4Dead, requiring the team to work around and avoid the powerful enemy that will otherwise leave them alone and that they have no good reason to fight.

The lack of incentive or reward for killing it is inherent to its nature, the whole point is not to fight it, you don’t even treat it like an enemy but more like a landmine or lava.

It sucks that the darktide shotgun isn’t anywhere near strong enough to 1 shot it like you could in L4D2.

I think it can still be one shot by a charged Thunderhammer, thrust blessing, and chastise special?

That’s how most of us got the special-in -less-than-5-seconds penance I assume. Maybe it’s changed.

I originally got it from mag dumping a Beast of Nurgle’s weakspot with the Bolter :sweat_smile:

I remember joining a game with a zealot called Bonk. I marked a daemonhost, went off a side path, thought nothing of it. Then I hear it wake up, the sound cue for a boss kill, and in the killfeed, I see “Bonk killed Daemonhost”. Shortly after, he disconnects.

Doing the God-Emperor’s work. Maybe daemonhosts ought to have a max amount of damage taken in one instance?

In L4D, we didnt have materials to collect or loot to grind for, or even weeklies that require collection of resources.

Here we got loot, DHs can block loot, disabling from getting loot and finishing weeklies.
