Crossplay is ruining the game for pc players

Ah yes of course because when you play there always happen to be 3 friends online who don’t have anything else to do then to join your team in DT!
Get real most games you play are with randoms the game is designed around this.

If Xbox players can choose to opt out of crossplay so should PC players, again seems only fair.

Seriously f*ck crossplay and leave it optional. I don;t want to play with xbox scrubs.

I see soooo many complaints about the game being too easy these days.

So it just seems like a match made in heaven tbh:
The games hidden harder difficulty modifier is playing with Xbox players.

And if you can’t carry and clutch, then: skill issue, get good, etc.

In the absence of a Steam opt-out, why not check the Discord for people playing? That, or add the people who you did well to your friends list.

All this just makes me think of PUGs from World of Warcraft, and people being surprised when a random group of 10/25/40 individuals did not always perform as an effective, cohesive unit :joy:

Oh man, this mod makes me wish there were more than 15 people in my region who play auric.

I wouldn’t even use it to avoid crossplayers. I’d reserve it for people who use [current busted build or weapon].

I can confirm at the very least VOIP works from PC to Xbox. Had some fun games chatting with an Xbox player.

I for one am more than happy for the influx of new players, no matter what there skill level may be. I will say it is weird (if its true) that other players can turn off crossplay but steam players can’t.

How long as the game been out on Xbox? A bit under a month? It took me several months (not being an experienced VT vet) to start running Damnation missions comfortably. Yes I have had rough or even lost Auric missions because of new players. But I would much rather lose some games, or work harder to clutch myself, as a cost to have a larger and healthier playerbase in the future.

As far as controller player’s go, I can’t comment on that although I did once see an absolutely ATROCIOUS controller player once which was funny. I’ve heard the aim assist sucks on controller but can’t confirm that.

Either way I don’t think trying to force console and controller players out and into separate communities is good to do, both for them and for the game at large. Maybe one day, years down the line, we’ll be relying on Xbox and Gamepass players to fill out lobbies.

I mean yeah, i understand most of the games tend to be with randoms hence the fact that you are going to get people are varying skill levels and i just deal with it instead of running to the forms to cry about other people ruining my games.

Even then I’ve seen random PC players also choke super hard on every difficulty but that is the general risk of playing with randoms.

Console players can read your comments, provided the game doesn’t bug out and keep them in the mourning star chat, it’s just that responding takes FOREVER.

Also, this expectation that going into a solo que is somehow going to be a fulfilling experience is new. You never know who you are going to match up with. I’m new, but it is safe to assume that most of the non-hardcore players had already quit before the microsoft release, so the influx of people playing for free has to be a shock to the system. Play with bots or true solo if you want a consistent experience. Old school rules.

For all the people saying you can end up with bad rando PC players too…yeh but the chance of that is way lower especially on auric level games which generally attract players who know what they are doing.
Point is console players using a controller will have such a hard time in auric games no matter how good they actually are, that it is actually detrimental for PC players, who simply expect a certain skill level when entering auric missions.

There is nothing wrong with people simply having the choice to not use crossplay anyway period. Having companies decide how we should play is plain annoying anyway.

This is absurd. No one is choosing how YOU play the game except for YOU. Friends are busy? Get on the official Discord and find a group, demand that everyone in the chat prove to you that they are on PC and then enjoy!

I really do get where you’re coming from and have experienced it. I’m an Xbox player, and never touched the game before the console release. I’ve been completing exclusively Auric 5s the last few play sessions since they are the most fun and challenging to me at this point. On Vet too, so aiming is very important. My experience has been pretty reasonable, with a steep learning curve with the sticks to get to where I am. I don’t think I’m any special but I know I’ve been putting in the work on these Auric runs.

I think your experience has largely to do with console players who have struggling hardware (most Series S users) or are straight up bad. I really don’t have a solution for you other than oh well. I do think the Auric board should have more strict requirements tho, it’s something to chase on top of leveling and penances. At this point Auric is there to just be the most difficult activity in the game with no explicit benefit over spamming quickplay Damnation.

yes, a choice is being made for us by not giving us the option to choose ourselves. it’s really not that hard to understand is it?

The option should be there, true. But don’t you think that maybe the problem is xbox players being new to this game? I have a problem with non-experienced players on auric but this is only that, lack of experience, nothing else. Also as it has been pointed out, you just can’t know when someone on PC uses a controller.

Man some of you guys are just elitist as hell smh.

I don’t see what seems to be the problem here, you guys always wanted an option to play with bots. Now that you get xbots in your games are you not happy ?

Who needs auric to learn the game? Everybody apparently!

I am now a corpse from how hard I laughed.

It’s just a new mission type. Escort missions. Extra hard modifier. Clutch practicing.

Bad players (skill, not malicious or trolling) can add its own charm.

I agree there should be more strict requirements as others mentioned. Did damnations with like… Level 12s and 15s. Literally resed the entire time 3 times in the same room with high int shock troopers (invis zealot) with a chaos spawn. Ended up dying and being for naught, but really made me have to try my solo skills.

I usually play auric with the expectation I am going to have a good chance at failing so I don’t place much expectations on it. It’s the hardest content so it’s gotta have a high fail rate. I’ll do regular damnation QuickPlay to pump out the weeklies.

All as expected…even more reason to avoid auric, it’s a failure magnet.
