Crash on Fatshark logo splash or skip through and crash on loading prologue

Issue Description:
Crashes every time on loading the Fatshark splash. If I click through with the mouse I can get as far as character creation/menu but then it crashes on trying to laod the prologue. Every time. I haven’t managed to get into the game proper yet since buying it last night.
I have done drivers, Visual Basic, Verify Integrity of Game Cache (it found 17 files missing), Windows Files Checker, none of it has had any impact. I am going to reinstall the game now.

I bought hte game last night, I have never successfully loaded actual gameplay.

Either

  1. Load from Steam Launcher
  2. The Fatshark crashes into my screen
  3. The Visuals stutter.
  4. The Sound stutters
  5. Crash to desktop

Or

  1. Load from Steam Launcher
  2. The Fatshark splash starts, I franticly click my mouse until it asks for Esc and then Space
    (The first time I managed this it went through character creation but the end result was the same…)
  3. Character selection loads
  4. I press the START button to start the Prologue
  5. The image of the starship loads with music and I can Space through the quotes
  6. The music stops but I can still space through the quotes
  7. Crash to desktop

Constant:
It crashes on the splash 100% of the time if I don’t click through (I think it crashes on the intro video if I stop there).
If I do click through it crashes on Prologue load 100% of the time.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter

  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names
  5. Upload here

Upload darktide_launcher.log:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  4. Locate the darktide_launcher.log in this directory
  5. Upload here
    Uploaded - 1517 is the Splash Crash, 1521 is the Prologue crash.
