Restarted steam after changing the setting, still no difference as we get upwards 70 ping when we used to have below 20 when playing in the same building.
Has it been any better (or worse) than on the main Steam branch (non-Beta) throughout any of these steps?
We have not noticed any change at all, no matter the settings/branches.
Have all set it to always. Yet we stll connect to the nearest relay respectively. Nothing changed.
No perceivable changes here either.
Again, it could be mere coincidence, but somehow hard to believe: Things had improved for me significantly with the season 4 patch, and now have gone back to pre-season-4 experience with the latest Patch 4.01…
Clarification again: As stated in my previous posts, I am not exclusively judging by latency-numbers, but by perceived lag in-game. (For example: Fatal arrows hitting, delay, enemy falling or: Pushing enemies, delay, stagger animation playing)

I tried both settings with my friends - nothing changed at all. Ping is still twice as high as before the patch with Engineer.

Have no connection what so ever, no lobby, cant host a game.
Game does start, but is useless.

Edit: after settings the Steam client to “beta participation” opt in, and a restart of Steam, game works as intended, with a active lobby and possibility to host a game
Doesn’t work for me and my friends. Ping doesn’t change at all. It’s as bad as it was since the Engineer update.

Didn’t work for us , ping is still high , we’ve tried it on “always” (all of us) and on steam beta , didn’t Change anything at all.
We used to get around 50 ping before the update 3.4.
Now the ping is around 160+

- taking double or even triple time to join into a game from lobby browser or quickplay, finds the lobby fine, connects and them the black screen takes about 90 seconds on average.
- weapon swings seem out of sync, about 1/4 second behind expectations.
- ping showing lower than ever before, usually in the 30-70 range.
- cant host a match, have to join someone else as my host kicks players out half way through.
- ironically chests being unusually stingy, talkin 9 emp chests and all i got was blues kinda stingy.

My friends and I tried the steam beta with in game Always on and it did not work. The ping did not have any noticeable change but it seems more stable but its a stable 180 and it used to be around 40-80
yeah i did, then restarted steam, it said its updating something and the snippets i posted are from how it looks like now. steam beta is enabled and my in-game menu looks like the screenshot i posted. im kind of desperate to solve this somehow at this point because for days (maybe even weeks) im getting nothing but disconnects and heavy lag whereas before there was none except when i wanted to connect to the other side of the planet.

When I try to join a game through Steam friends, Vermintide launches, the cutscene plays and I am in a new game.
If I host a game, others can join on me through Steam, but I cannot join anyone else
