Congrats to Fatshark

The Payday3 flop took the wind out of my friends’ and I’s sails too. We never pre-ordered it thanks to the paranoia from the insane amount of unfinished games released lately, but it still sucks.

That was me making the switch from Power Sword + Helbore Lasgun to Shovel + Plasma Gun.

I’ve top-fragged for 3 games in a row and I feel great. I’ve found the Veteran build that works best for me.

I felt horrible for him, because Payday is one of his two favourite things, the other being his tractor. Apart from me (his only friend), those are the only two things that make him happy. It was torturous not hearing from him for 3 days because he dumped around $200 on something that made Darktide’s release look flawless. I went over to his place after a while and managed to cheer him up, but it took a lot of effort.

They copy pasted too many assets (points of interest). Like the entire point of interest not just furniture etc.

I saw beer bottles and food items out in the open on planets with no atmosphere.

I get that it’s sci fi, but let’s not destroy the principles of basic physics here.

Also the UI is super bad.

Pay Day I like but I just genuinely did not see the point of the sequel. The 2nd game has sat very well numbers wise and the content roll out could have gone for years more.

I dunno.
PcGamer is one of those sites who’d write anything positive if a company threw some money at 'em.
Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s precisely what happened here.

I went to desolate planets that had a few cool little outposts here and there, but I never ran into random food items anywhere. Sounds interesting

One thing I do love about it is the weird things you’ll probably never see, but others might because of the really weird procedural generation.

I dunno, the UI didn’t really bother me. My main complaint is the lack of everything. There’s only really 4 factions that have reasonably long and fleshed out questlines. Oh, there’s one minor faction in Neon at Madame Sauvage’s called the Strikers, they’re slightly interesting but it’s still a bit undercooked because they just kinda… don’t matter after the questline? Skyrim has WAY more questlines and most of them have pretty interesting consequences on the world around you, which Starfield lacks. There’s also 2 really cool questlines I found by listening to the comms whilst on my spaceship - one involved a settlement of clones being controlled by robots, whilst the other involved a bunch of petty criminals who are doing really well in an experimental rehabilitation facility but a bunch of bounty hunters are after them.

The UC questline (Vanguard) is the only one that actually makes a noticeable difference everywhere and it’s that a specific bug doesn’t spawn in the game anymore. I won’t say anymore because spoilers.

Hopefully the Shattered Space DLC is Starfield’s Far Harbour or even better.

I WANNA JOIN ECLIPTIC AND HOUSE VA’RUUN!!!

Not want to be a jerk, but if you thing Bethesda is going to turn the ship around and finally make a great game… you must be delusional. I really hope I am proved wrong (Elder Scrolls has always been one of my favourite game series), but I doubt it very much. Your best bet would be Avowed by Obsidian. That’s the one I am looking forward to.

I’m just saying that for Bethesda’s sake, The Elder Scrolls VI better not be unfinished on release. It’ll probably sink both their company and their community into the ground.

Love the game so much, I felt it deserved best soundtrack as well…

Final Fantasy XVI stole it from Darktide.

This game has its flaws, but Jesper Kyd doesn’t.
