because i dont want it cluttering up my penance board. i dont want a penance board. every mission its a “HEY LOOK WHAT YOU DID COME SEE” and i dont want it.
i like your attitude towards it, but unfortunately i disagree with you with the luck being a factor is okay, i am being sold a product that cannot be effectively completed because luck. if my money arriving on their end was luck based, do you reckon they’d still continue to put out?
its a shame because they’ve now upped the tiers making it harder. it used to be labelled heresy/damnation and now its damnation and auric. even though the auric is still just as high difficulty as it used to be
I think we were almost in a post-title caring world. Then FS dropped Havoc with a party finder requirement and havoc penance titles on us and the promposals brought it all rushing back.
it does close down the discussion because it’s a conclusive answer
yes, these achievements require skill or organization to complete. what do you want? they need to change them to something you’d prefer more? i’d prefer if all achievements were actually something to work towards and not just empty grinds. we can’t all get what we want
I suggest just letting it go. I also want all penances but it has so little effect on my game that it doesnt really matter to me. Each to their own though.
You can get the Penance really easy by just playing Ogryn. I managed to get it first try with Ogryn when he got his Tree Rework.
I think the other Classes can now get it easily too after their Tree Rework. Arbites is probably great for it too with the Shield Stance and Shield+Maul is really survivable.
OK but where do you draw the line? Spawns have random-ness and the capacity for chaos is extremely high compared to other more deterministic game. Add in other players (it’s clear this is designed as a 4-person experience) and you have near infinite possibilities in a single match.
You are engaging with a system built on chance in an established genre where random-ness is a staple, if you didn’t grasp that before buying then you’ve hoodwinked yourself.
I don’t mean to insult or offend you, maybe just bring you round to my way of thinking — embrace the chaos (oops heresy), do what you can, expect nothing, and you will be happier
I have no doubt you are able to complete this penance!!
Instead of quickplay - choose maps and modifiers that you feel more confident with.
I have the penance and have only ever played with randoms for almost 2k hours.
It was a while ago but I think I stuck to low visibility modifiers and mostly melee modifier as IMO they’re more survivable. You get to sneak up on enemies. Auric was much harder back then though. I seem to survive in most AM games I play now so I think now is a good time to go for the penance.
It certainly wasn’t a cake walk and took a good few attempts. Sometimes dying on the last stretch of the last mission which was painful. But persevere for the emperor of mankind!
It’s quite obvious that Fatshark steered away from “skill-based” achievements, because they usually promote toxic way of playing. So you can argue nothing in Darktide is made to show off your skill.
I almost exclusively play quickplay, very rarely play with friends, its possible to get the penances with randoms. I even got my true survivor/havoc forged penances with randoms
