I got it without even trying
btw if you’re gonna be upset people hit you with “skill issue” maybe don’t name the topic the way you did, clearly skill does play a role in it

bridges are generally recommended for that psyker penance. also those at the end hacking of vigil station, i think i got mine there.
one of the funniest was “long bomb” where a sniper was on the other side at the finale of baross and i threw a grenade only because i had a flamer and nothing to shoot back at him.
and one that went well and surprised me was vet’s “overwatch” or what not taking melee damage at all is called, terminus on maelstrom just because i kept shouting at randoms the whole round.
actually i did most of my penances by simply playing the game and not bothering, as every small mistake will ruin your fun.
That kinda was the way for me for the most part, until it came to zealot stun nades and some other stuff that would make me go out of my way to do them.
Charitable
Firstly it is an achievement, it means basically nothing, so it doesn’t really have to be broadly accessible. Nobody uses it as a real judgement of skill, not least of which because genuinely skilled people usually aren’t that bothered with completing arbitrary check lists.
Second, it is a social game at its core, so yes finding a dedicated group will give you an advantage in most things. Something would be fundamentally wrong with the coop survival game if that wasn’t the case.
Of course you’re not wrong though that much of this is a step down from VT2, most noticeable being the lack of solo play. They absolutely need to address that as a priority, it’s a joke that this game is literally unplayable solo.
It’s made even worse by the lack of backfilling. Playing Auric HISTG with asupex sections is awful and when you get through it, the game boots you out because it takes too long.
Hah, maybe, but at least in most of the games I play in US East a large majority of the players I’ve encountered are at the very least competent, which is all I really ask for. There’s nothing particularly outstanding about them, but they get the job done, pull their weight, and earn my respect.
would need to browse some 800 videos of mine back, but I did just that.
playing with randoms mind you, picked my auric maelstroms in full, not hopping into a chewed on burger.
as well like any havoc 40 so far with the exception of this season for health reasons/scheduled time away from my pc so whats the point seeing your rank degrade
anyways, at no point do I look for a premade or take much stock in the composition of the team.
then again, keep in mind that most A.S.Ses cheesed their ass so everyone still strutting around with nothing else to show for is rather a in my book.
besides, you want to “show your skill” record some gameplay in full, the odd penance isn’t a metric for overall value of a player in general.
for some very individual moments though, yes doing A.S.S at the time with everyone down, by yourself DOES take more skill than 99%of the playerbase will ever achieve, so there’s that.
EU servers at noon (mittagsschicht) makes you
Are you trying to get Flawless execution? You don’t have to do it in auric…
The debate won’t get you anywhere with veteran players, but clearly the game’s difficulty has seriously increased. It’s become impossible to perform certain penances, which were complicated at the beginning of the game but achievable.
Which earns titles and executives necessary to avoid being systematically rejected from Havocs.
I’m like you in my frustration.
LOL
Player power has never been as strong as now.
Most class penances are completely trivialized by Mortis Trials.
If you want that Auric Maelstrom survive penance, pick the ones which aren’t too nuts. You can play other missions in between and just go for the “easy” Maelstroms until you have it done.
Isn’t flawless execution the one you get for not going down on 15 missions on Malice or higher? I got that one just by levelling up my characters.
Perfect execution remains easy, surviving 5 Auric Maelstrom games today, a joke.
I just find the difficulty level today just absurd, Aurics games with almost 100% victory without problems and Havoc / Maelstroms Just ridiculous.
I’m talking about endgame penance, I completed 100% of the penances on the 5 classes
Easy ones Maelstroms ? I’d love for you to give me the info ^^
hell I’m about 2k hours into the game and never bothered about it.
yes it could be done in malice but go back there instead of some quality time…. nu-uh sah ogryn rather not have rashuns then
had various runs under 20 minutes without people even coordinated pushing for it.
here’s an example if you like.
plenty more currently given the power creep and state of the game right now
I did it in heresy a while back it was sooo boring!
Well, relatively easy. Like, don’t go for the monstrous specialists for example.
I did like 3 in a row, then I hopped on Discord to get the last 2 done. With manymoretry, you can pick a relatively “easy” one.
Honestly getting those 10/10 Auric Damnation/Maelstrom (quickplay) in a row with no deaths was probably my proudest penance completion and overall a positive experience though it made me a bit sweaty (um, literally). The only title I wear is the purple one from it on the Ogryn I got it on. Going 9/10 and losing, ouch. But I’m wired like that, pick myself up again and back to it. Here for the journey not the destination. Luck is a factor and that’s ok.
However it’s quite frankly idiotic that the penance can be cheesed by disconnecting. It’s done more harm than good by promoting a leave-now environment for the many achievement hunters out there. Also ASS obviously.
Agreed. The tag is known as ASS for a reason. Iv never bothered to put my time towards it and just enjoy playing the game to test my own skill.
Why does it matter that you get it?
It actually has a huge bearing on skill - the issue is, Fatshark in their normal manner completely f*cked up the release and there was a bug where you could leave a mission even if you died during it and you could still have it counting toward completing on Auric Storm Survivor or Auric Exemplar. I personally earned Auric Exemplar and Survivor the legit way and it is VERY apparent when someone is wearing a “fake title” per say.
Yeah that only became a thing because Fatshark couldn’t even release a penance right (not surprised) so you had everyone with the ASS title but they were all dying within 2 mins of the game starting. I guarantee you someone who earned Auric Exemplar the legit way is going to be surviving A LOT longer than someone who doesn’t got it lol. The titles COULD of meant something but its far too late for that.
as of right now even “havoc 40” means jack
had multiple matches (auric maelstrom mind you)
where they fumbled the most basic encounters, went down and logged out before one could even picked em up.
must suck when the premade’s not around to babysit one’s ass and finds himself in a humiliating situation
so right now there’s no surefire way you know if a player is worth his salts or not.
