Community Update #6: Signal Update

Actual rug pull moment. The crusher better not be a carbon copy or downgrade from the thunder hammer, then.

No they won’t! We don’t want any timers and limited offers. In VT2 you can purchase everyting all the time and nobody is confused. Please keep it simple and fair. You can still have a front-page on the store with the newest stuff on exposure and have a backpage with the rest.

We didn’t pay 40 bucks to have restrictions to the shop. Well actually we didn’t pay 40 bucks to have this shop in the first place, but since it is now here: don’t limit anything in it.

I’m a simple guy. Give me the scoreboard, a proper mission selection hub and a full crafting system (like vm2) and I’m happy. The rest I don’t mind much, as long as it’s in the to-do list, I can wait.

But no word on those three yet (except in the half-baked crafting upgrade), so oh well, back to VM2 for now.

Problem is, the team working on the store isn’t the same team fixing gameplay bugs or designing core systems like crafting. It’s like complaining to sound engineers about cinematics issues. There’s no reason to hold one completely different feature back just because another completely separate feature isn’t working.

Besides, as others pointed out, it is not legal in the EU (and other countries by similar laws).

Sure, and that makes sense on one hand.

It also results in the majority of your audience feeling taken advantage of and feeling like piggy banks to a predatory rollout of a product they paid for lol.

Some great patch notes. Alot of stuff covered and alot talked about

Thanks for the details!

Where is the console version??? Not even a mention of a planned release date??? The “soon after” PC launch is quickly turning into just after. It’s going to be a big slap in the face to console players who have supported the game just as much as PC players because I have a feeling console won’t be seeing the game until 2023. Again, it’s not that console players expect the game immediately, but the non-existant communication on the version is disheartening.

Also, easy fix, make it similar to Vermintide 2 or even how you do it in Darktide - make for example three tabs (as 3 < unlimited) and name them:

Featured

  • just showing some skins (like now)

Classes

  • only showing the newest/ best of the classes (also quite like now)

Browse

  • let us see all skins

Browse could also be broken down for each class or categories like “weapon, headgear, … or such”.

YOU DID THIS ALREADY IN VERMINTIDE 2, there we also had only “limited store pages”!

Especially since “confusion and a bad user experience” is implementing “deceiving design patterns” which are -surprise- by design manipulative and misleading, meaning FS does the exact opposite of what’s being said.
Is this just some “miscommunication” again or already lying to the face?

Agreed. My point was people ascribing “greed” to FS since they had a functioning store on day one while core gameplay features were broken or missing when, in fact, it just means one team had their stuff ready to go on day one and the other one didn’t. Updates to the FOMO and aquilas bundles were still needed, so the community was right on those points.

See where we disagree is that I think “get the shop ready” was a bigger priority then the missing gameplay features.

I am ascribing greed to Fatshark, but for their prioritization rather then the existence if you catch my meaning.

Thanks for the update!

So when is the plasma gonna accually work like a plasma and shoot throught bulwarks? The whole identity of the plasma in tabletop is to shoot while in overheat, and we can’t do that in game, why? The gun is borderline useless in game, and feels awful to use, while not feeling like a plasma should, you got the visuals and sound right, time for the gameplay portion, don’t you think?

Lmao you could not be more obviously full of it. “Uhhh, n-no, the FOMO timers aren’t there to induce FOMO, they’re, uhhh, there to give players “variety” (less options = more variety???) and not make clutter (as if this was an issue in VT2)”

I think a lot of the grievances when it came to the cosmetic store was the FOMO tactics used as well as the inability to being able to buy they exact amount you would need to make a purchase, mobile game and Destiny 2 whale farming stuff basically.

The amount issue is being fixed as it was apparently a mistake, although, my tinfoil hat says its a way to save face while backtracking on the decision that was made as that is quite an obvious error to miss. But thats just me

The FOMO thing will still be there, its just in disguise, under a blanket, and may or may not end up being less predatory than first feared.

Personally i dont care about the shop, as im probably never gonna buy anything, but i am not gonna dismiss the complaints as baseless, there was, and is, things that are pretty rough about the implementation.

I feel like it should be mandatory for Fatshark employees to play their own game for 4h per week…

Hopefully the game is less broken tomorrow then.

This is quite bad really. Beside other places (like customer protection or similar) it makes sense to report the game via the Steam store page report feature, because at best it is just bad business practice but at worst it is an illegal practice.
Really, FS should stick to honest and transparent systems, like the one in Vermintide 2 - also legal on top.

Ultimately this comes down to UI design. If the store with unlimited items is designed poorly, it will be confusing, just like timers are right now. As long as the UI is clear and easy to use, then there could be hundreds of pages of cosmetics and they wouldn’t be confusing.

Nice vid, just zapping through (because of bad internet) and some min of the store issue, but sounds quite spot on.
