Community Comm-Link 27th July 2023

It just feels a bit… tone deaf for lack of a better term. They tell us a month ago that a new post is coming in July, only for the post to be “Here’s info on a post coming next week.” It reads like they knew they’d be making a dev blog, didn’t know when it’d be good to publish but promised a date, and to make sure they technically delivered on that promise published this Comm.

I’m glad to know what to expect in the dev blog, but with it being only one week out from this comm I’d rather have just waited the extra week for the dev blog.

This is pretty much your last chance, either you announce locks are gone (or require 100 diamantine to remove permanently) + ALL resources are pooled
Or its gg no re

This really is their last chance. Player numbers have (predictably) dropped to new lows during the summer break. Any system that is half-assed or involves new levels of RNG or grind to remove locks will be the final nail.

Unfortunately absolutely everything they have said and done since release has given me little hope that there is anyone at all at FS that has the faintest idea of what they’re doing. Remember how they solved the weapon availability issue? Yeah, the horrific hateful RNG trap that is Brunt. I have absolutely zero faith in anyone at FatShark realizing the intensely obvious and simply remove the dark design RNG from the game.

Thanks for the infos. I can see now what to expect for this summer. Great.

I hope that the patch will address the main problem of the crafting… the time you spend to achieve something. Even if it is relatively easy to get a real good weapon (3 or 4 tries are enough - considering you already collected the blessings you want on it), fact is we have no real possibility to get a good base weapon (375+) to start with. Brunt’s armoury is a joke, or a robber as you want… And using a 375+ base weapon is the way to increase dramatically the odds to get a T4 blessing.
And I won’t speak about plasteel so rare… and the diamantine so abundant…

EDIT: Please FS, do not put fingers on the weapon shop… except if it is to increase the odds to get, at least, T3 blessing… The shop is the only way to find a 375+ base weapon.

You know what is the most depressing? Locks could have stayed, if diamantide was intended to be used to increase stats and levels of perks and blessings. This way all Gray/Green/Blue weapons could have potential to become 550 rating eventually.

Also Emperor’s gifts with base stats like “301” and both 4th lvl perks and blessings could be fixed. There were so many of those. I still scream when I recall 320 bolter with 3lvl maniac DMG boost, 4th lvl reload speed, 3rd lvl pinning fire and 2lvl shattering impact.

I could have fixed it, you bastarts… I could have fixed it…

Or, at the very least, for us to have had some idea of what’s in this comm-link beforehand. This is an announcement of an announcement.

@FatsharkCatfish uhh, what happened with the Cosmetics rotation?

I thought I heard you say it was still a few months til we rotate back around to the start? Has a decision been made internally to keep a few cosmetics back?

There were a lot of people checking in every 2 weeks to see if that special cosmetic they’ve been waiting for has landed. I imagine those people won’t be very happy at this weeks store.

Oh is this the CTRL-C, CTRL-V announcement thing they do once a month?

I honestly don’t see what slowing down the update rate means, it’s been 1 month since the last update, is it hard to change it to a 2 month update, or a 3 month (quarterly) update?

It’s not about the pace, it’s about the content. They could give an update every day but if it’s all vacuous nothingness it matters not. Consumers want meaningful positive changes to the unsatisfactory product they’ve paid for. Dev logs, Comms Links and interviews with Dev’s all mean sweet FA if the product is still awful.

IF… the quarterly update was of significant quality and content delivered effectively and on time players would be overjoyed.

As it is, we probably DO get quarterly content drops with all kinds of pointless words and misdirection in between.

FS at this point might as well write it in thirty foot high letters in the sky, their customers are so jaded and cynical at this point only the select few couple-of-thousand players a day are really plugging away with any hope.

Actions speak louder than words and all that.

Watch the lock announcement be: After much feedback and internal discussion we have decided to relay to you that we are listening to your feedback and internally discussing locks. Can’t share anything yet!! Will announce more announcements about announcing soon! (translation;no but we can’t just outright say it)

Please fix Agripinaa Headhunter; bugged weapon.

My money is on a system that lets you reroll one perk one time at cost of diamantine and a system that lets you scrap weapons for a pittance of mats. I was going to throw in re-rolling a blessing one time but that’s actually enough times as blessings go and would completely resolve the problem there so no way that happens.

But personally my main issue has been the mission board being full of undesirable missions and resource siloing and lack of content, more than it is weapon locks. I play this game too much so I have BiS combos of basically all the weapons I care about. Bricked weapons aren’t as bad as closing the game because there’s nothing I want to play on the mission board.

seems about right.

Peak steam players are now dipping below 3k. Personally, I’m started moving to other games. This is kinda my Litmus test to see if Fatshark has any real intention to work with the community. If this ‘update’ is as half-assed as the previous ones, I think it’s time to write the game off as a flop; killed by gross mismanagement and greed…The most disappointing way for a game to go.

Once again the word ‘adjustments’ is used pretty purposely here… Those who advocate for the removal of the locks completely, I can pretty much guarantee you’re gonna be disappointed.

As for the rest of the updates, I’ll withhold my judgment until I see their plans and implementation. But my expectations are pretty much as low as they can get at this point.

if i was betting man i would say that you will be allowed to remove one lock per week if you complete melk quests… for sure the locks wont be removed, they will be put behind another gate.

so… in one month you can get your character with godly weapons. and another month if you want good curios

The RNG and the locks, the timegating and all the other design of every single system of the game is the rotten core. No amount of maps or new subclasses would be of any interest to me whatsoever without locks, RNG and siloing being fixed.

Yes, the game needs new content. You’re absolutely right.

It also needs to cut out all of it’s rotten systems.
