I wish fatshark allows us rebless to higher tier for same blessing. I know It is not an unlock but it helps.

Totally agree, so they haven’t really done any meaningful balancing yet, all they have done is nerf things some people complain about.

So here’s the problem, if they nerf something like slaughterer-headtaker-brutal momentum, blessings that many players are invested in, there is no recourse due to the crafting locks. It would be a terrible idea and it’s going to really enrage the players. Their only real choice is to bring up-remove-redo all the terrible ones.

They should do the same for feats as there are so many useless ones and very little build diversity.

Not to mention that the bad will REALLY began to come to a head with Patch 7 - Tools of the Nerf™.

Whatever one’s opinion on the effects of those nerfs, pro or con, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that the patch as a whole had a Last Jedi esque effect, in that it was hugely divisive and marked the start of a consistent downward turn coming in with every new update. And in keeping with the Last Jedi analogy, ever since then, good will and general excitement hasn’t reached the levels it was at prior to its release.

Order of operations:
1- Remove locks (or allow them to be removed in some way)
1.5- At least temporarily leave the “one more try” mod exploit in and leave hi int shock troopers damnation always on.
2- balance all perks, blessings, weapons, and curios, and skills and classes, difficulties, and enemies. As much balance as possible.
3- work on a better map selection (I proposed allowing players to choose whatever map and difficulty they want, no modifiers, but the “tile system” can remain with random maps and modifiers… But selectable difficulty. And always have some high-int shocks or something. Have quick play give more exp and resources)
4- rework crafting as/if needed. As long as RNG is reasonable.

After that we’ll see. Still lots to do with shirtless, bots, solo mode, character edits, etc.

But hey, I am just slightly optimistic we got an acknowledgement, not as much as I wanted but I am going to use operant conditioning if it means making progress albeit glacially.

Aaah, I see. Rather than finish and release localhosted Solo mode, the devs instead spent the last 3 months after getting Crafting out working on Cross-play.

A feature that was only previously mentioned as something the devs would like to do, but can’t commit any date to it, is getting a release window when another feature that is 6 months overdue is still no where in sight.

Splendid idea - let’s take something other ppl like to use and nerf the hell out of it!

This will make the game more fun for all! It worked for the powersword - so it‘ll work for all other fun weapons as well!

I’m glad to hear that you at the very least are acknowledging the situation regarding Crafting and the systems as far as equipment and what not is concerned. To hear that you are still working on it, even if a lot of people have abandoned it.

I will do my best to be candid here, because I really Enjoy what Darktide offers, and what it could become. It is my opinion that you should put someone on trying to make some sort of actual narrative in the game. to give us some sort of tangible sense of progression in the long run. A friend of mine, who still owns but doesn’t play the game said it like this: “Darktide expects a lot of grinding from me, yet offers me little to no tangible feedback that I’ve done something, In Vermintide there was the flags, the characters personal living space etc. here we get nothing. I feel like my time is not being respected.”
these critiques are of course valid. Even if we cannot expect the same things, as we are no longer the ubersreik five, we are no-named menials for the inquisition and thusly our effects on our environment will be very limited.

I hope that you will start generating new things soon. New zones, the flash missions, New classes and perhaps even some sort of visual feedback to our progress, besides the cosmetics for your character. You have not lost that splendid eye for detail, the fact that for all the games out there, few of them capture the feeling of the Warhammer fantasy/40k universes quite like you do.
Some people are upset, rightfully so, others are completely assblasted, almost rightfully but a bit to much, and some are probably more burned out by the fact that the gaming industry as a whole have declined in the past few years. Terrible launches, bland and buggy releases, big promises with tiny if any delivery.

Keep up the good work, Do your best to push past what was and make a better and brighter future for this game. do not take any good will for granted and understand that we do not want to be angry, we dont want to be upset and filling these comments with salty poxmarked hurt. We want to spend our time in games we enjoy.

I understand that most of this is wasted, both on Catfish, not because I think Catfish will just thrust me into the sewage grate of angry posts, and this forum, because I dont belive that most of anyone will read through all of it.

To make mucho texto less: “Keep working, show you want do good, do good, roll in the cash we might throw at you if you do good”

The other side of Hanlon’s Razor is that “Sufficiently advanced stupidity is indistinguishable from malice.”

Ergo it doesn’t really matter if Fatshark’s decision makers are intentionally antagonistic to their players or completely unable to understand the consequences of their actions. Regardless of the cause the end result is the same: The mechanics that are in place to try to retain players do the exact opposite and instead actively repulse the vast majority of players. And Fatshark has done little to nothing to rectify this in Darktide.

You know what, this has been going on for a while and many good arguments have been raised.
You have convinced me, Brosgw.

We need a proper balance to the Blessings and Perks and when there are many good options to pick from, then it also won’t matter that locks would be gone. After all, you will then be suffering from choice and try out more builds.

Add me to the list.

I don’t think the point of the commslink is to flood it with complaints that have been beaten to death. I guess we use the forums differently

People are still crying about locks while they already mentioned it is in the works.

Good for you. I hope everyone takes you seriously

Yes the desire to keep conversation on topic and civil is “corpo shoelicking”.

I guess if you live your life in a basement you might need to dream up real conflict like this. Thanks for the contribution.

Lots of children here it seems

What was different between Catfish’s post 2 days ago and Hedge’s crafting blog from November of last year? Eventually people would like to see more than ‘we hear you but have nothing concrete yet’. Like after 6 months it would be nice to hear a different tune.

Thanks, you added nothing of interest. Just more whining

Carry on.

No they did not - that is exactly the point! That would have been something like „we will remove the locks after we added crisply“

What they said translated to „despite 6 months of constant feedback we still haven’t decided if and how we might change something“

Which wouldn’t be necessary if they acknowledged these complaints properly.

Statements like these make the following appear a little hypocritical:
