1- Too slow to throw in-between attacks.
2- Doesn’t stagger ogryns, even on a weakspot hit.
3- Is an uppercut attack (Starts from the bottom and swings towards the top), so good luck hitting weakspots in a real fight.
4- low damage.
So please could someone tell what is the point of this attack?
Could be better if it was a quick jab that could hit weak spots consistently. Combat Axe has relatively low mobility and is a pretty heavy weapon, it makes sense that the stagger would be more effective against Ogryns.
The description of those weapons also lies, saying it is supposed to stagger armored enemies, but does jack n kark, might as well spam heavies that actually kill said armoured enemies relatively well.
I guess if they changed it to a quick stab with the tip like the D###ing S###d people would call it op tho.
Maybe it could still keep the axe flip after the jab. I do agree the animation looks great, it’s just uppercuts aren’t as practical for weakspot hits as other options.
Possibly, but Combat Axe would still be balanced by the slow swing speed and low mobility, unlike DS that allows movement at the speed of light.
Rashad’s special attack is pretty useless, but as others have said it does seem able to interrupt Ragers. It’s clearly kind of an afterthought, though.
I feel like staggering Ogryn is a pretty big ask for a relatively small, one handed weapon. Probably no one handed weapon special attack should do that TBH.
Could definitely use a redesign for Caxes though. A unique attack profile that can be worked into your combos to break up the left click spam monotony could be nice. Not sure on the details of that one mind you.
Personally, I think they should focus on changing Achlys’ combo patterns rather than fixing the special attack. The heavy attack in particular would be better if it could chain horizontal swings from certain combos, similar to how the Relic Blade works. The reason nobody uses this axe anymore is simply because the combo patterns are too awkward and impractical.
That and 0.001 cleave on heavy 1. Yeah it feels good when you line up headshots with BM but whenever you miss a head it feels like being knee capped. More work with no more reward compared to spamming lights on the other two marks. Meanwhile I don’t really even notice it being better at single target due to weirdly slow attack chain times.
Just an extremely outdated weapon that wasn’t even good back when the game was slower and less spammy. Unironically Rashad back when you had to look up into the sky to land headshots was more usable.
Don’t make me tap the sign. Many stagger thresholds are still borked since the changes last year and needed a serious looking at when they increased the thresholds (like why Ripper bayonet stab still has the “flamer” stagger_category).
The Rashad has the added benefit of the wonky underhand animation that seems to not connect half the time, IDK why they didn’t just make it like the Antax and call it a day after the mark unlocks.
