Cliffhanger penance help

Easiest way is probably to play magistrati oubliette.
First horde usually spawns when the group is right around the location that i marked.

There is a relatively narrow curve at the marked location, which makes it very easy to knock off the enemies into the abyss.
You can be right before, behind or in the middle of the bend.
A few pushes + shriek should very easily knock plenty of enemies off within 2 seconds.

At high peril level?

I didnā€™t actually realise that more peril pushed them more until just now but that makes sense so Iā€™ll try again later.

I was trying it at zero peril basically. Iā€™m anally retentive about peril. I hate having it depleted so itā€™s instinctual to keep it topped up at every opportunity for me.

Venting shriek puts them down but pretty much where theyā€™re standing. I hadnā€™t considered level of peril though so maybe that the trick.

How on earth Iā€™ll stop myself from instinctually quelling is beyond me though lol

I did it with a Trauma staff. Much stronger knockback than Shriek.

Yes I was surprised at this when I tried it. Iā€™m pretty sure I easily knocked many more than 7 off the ledge when I used smite but it didnā€™t trigger penance or update the highest attempt so I assumed it just didnā€™t accept smite push for the penance.

I must have done something wrong.

Of course the explosion radius is circular so it scatters dudes in all directions. I got it done by accident at the finale of Hab Dreyko, when youā€™re on the final run towards the Storm Raptor. Thereā€™s a waterfall spawn of hordes right next to the ledge, dropped a Trauma blast below them, ezclap.

Nice! I will probably try this on the smelter finale first as there are plenty of opportunities there. Thanks for confirming the staff works though

You can try hitting them with Venting Shriek as theyā€™re flying off the ledge for good measure. I may have been panicking and hitting all of my buttons at that time, but I know the Trauma was definitely involved.

IIRC he used both Smite and Venting Shriek

Now that I understand that peril affects power output of venting shriek, it makes smite seem like the way to go. Zap them with smite until high peril then smite push then vent. Smite stops them from attacking too.

Lots to try out tonight!

Thereā€™s an espionage mission in the Torrent where the objective is to feed the enemy bad Intel. The final stage of that process extends a bridges to a central raised tower to place the last interrogator. One of the 2 bridges is usually completely swarmed with infested melee fighters. Itā€™s were I finally got it.

Another good suggestion! Thanks.

If you got a friendly Ogryn to help get one with a slab shield to hold a narrow approach and when the horde reaches critical mass to the push.

It doesnā€™t need to be a special build or setup even they just need to plant and collect bodies.
