That’s true, but in addition to banning them, it would be good if they stated explicitly that such ‘mods’ are unacceptable and constitute a violation, just like wallhacks.
This is already stated
I won’t quote again their post but it is here obvious
This is clearly stated.. Aim bots are not authorized. This is wtitten in all letters
As I said, there is here no discussion. This is forbidden.
And I’ve learned it throws “unauthorized/altered” files errors at you just for trying to improve performance with DLL swapping and settings.ini editing, a thing I have to do to DT to make it playable. Really stupid way to punish legitimate customers, blocking me from editing my own settings files…
It can be seen in their animations, like quick heavies one after the other, or mixing melee and ranged. Macros automate inputs to a consistency that is at least very unlikely to keep up under pressure.
Unfortunately that’s just what ends up happening in a totally unmoderated environment. I don’t think the solution to this is re-enabling the anticheat, but it would be nice to have some official word on what’s not allowed and what the consequences for using a disallowed cheat mod are. Would probably help deter people from making, sharing and using blatant cheats. Silence is quite the bad policy here.
If the silence continues I guarantee some of the more devious cheat mods will start to appear soon. There’s a surprising amount of stuff one modded client can achieve. For example, I’ve seen that it’s possible to continuously respawn bots to disallow a match from ending. Currently a private mod that’s not being made public, but once these things get found by the broader cheat-positive public it’ll end up the same as VT1, where one cheater can decide that a mission will never fail.
It also lets you set up very specific input chains that circumvent the games normal attack speed limits on some weapons, which is what a lot of people use it for.
This sort of ties into the above point: I’m sure the mod author didn’t intend for it to be used as a cheat. But maybe if cheats were openly discussed by Fatshark and making/sharing/using them was explicitly bannable (with hard examples of what a cheat is rather than a 4 year old nebulous, open-to-interpretation modding ToS from before mods were even being made) then perhaps this author would’ve not released it with obvious cheating capabilities.
Some guy consistently aimbots in Havoc 40’s when playing his duelingsword+double-barreled shotgun veteran, and it’s quite ridiculous to look at. He hits heads so much and so consistently, literally just storms off by himself into the thickest pink hordes saturated in elites and specials, he is often outdamaging both inferno psykers and chem scum. Just by his swordplay.
My god… this is so annoying the guys that quit and let a bot revive you…
I really ask that bots replace the human… if the player is dead and prisoner, the bot should appears tied and prisoner also. If the player is on floor, make the bot reappears on floor…
