Cheat mods

I’m posting this just to talk about the cheating mod situation in game.

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed more and more players using things like aimbot, autododgeCC, macros, and wallhack, etc. This also includes mod like Skitarius from before. What’s worse is that some of the people making these mods are openly showing them off and even selling them.

Before, I’d only run into cheaters occasionally (mostly on HK server). But yesterday really pushed me to post this, I played around 10 Auric maelstroms, and in 8 or 9 games there were obvious cheaters, they have no skills and only cheat, falldown countless times, It’s honestly ruining the experience for me and my friend.

On top of that, the in-game report system doesn’t seem to do much. I even messaged FatShark about this last month, but never got a reply.

I really hope this gets more attention, because it’s becoming a serious problem.

Here are some video links of the cheats

It takes a special kind of person to cheat in a multiplayer game.

Giant L energy, the lot of them.

See, according to them, it doesn’t affect you. Also, if you don’t know about it can’t possibly affect you; it’s not a cheat if you’re unaware of it after all.

Furthermore, hot off the presses, a 360 ESP mob radar is just “format change”.

There are a lot of childishly insecure people in the world who need to cheat because of their insecurities.

Then they use Dr Strange levels of mind bending to validate their cheating by defending any use of any “mods" as if it’s their firstborn.

Can’t possibly have anyone point out any bad mods as that would possibly shine light on ones they’re using, etc etc.

Anything that jeopardizes mods at large is the enemy!

Good luck getting any sympathies on this forum as it’s rife with mod users.

But yes I fully agree there needs to be some intervention from FS. For starters, all those mods are playing havoc on balance. How could they possibly not be?

@FatsharkJulia(I think) said they are looking at internal solutions, but that was ages ago. An update would be good.

Perhaps the new area in the hub is a modded realm

can we please get a clean realm like V2 had

seem like it comes from our asian “friends”
The ones that refused the DS nerf… now they also need aim bots…
Maybe they should just watch youtube videos. It would be the same result.

If Fatshark adds an official scoreboard, and fixes weapon swapping / input issues, the game will be finally read to be considered ready for release without mods. That’s bare minimum at this point.

and my own mourningstar keep while we are at it

I am on EU server, I saw macro losers multiple times. The severity of the problem may be different but it must be everywhere.

Fatshark has shown itself to be cool with informational/awareness mods, however if these mods are as advertised (I don’t read Chinese and don’t need bilibili tracking cookies on my machine), they seem to be actively taking actions for the player, which is a clear step beyond awareness.

Additionally, if people are charging money for them, that’s definitely a clear violation of basically every game ToS ever.

yeah only HAVPICKLE RICK players can have concerns or something. lmao harder at that, the regular game can be ruined by griefers as well stop needing to fluff yourself in every post.

havpickle rick :writing_hand::fire::fire::fire:

this cheatmod seller is developing new cheats for sell rn, and looks like fs don’t have anything to do rn

Even from an insecure sadistic person’s perspective, I can’t see why this would be something you’d want to do. It’s not like a PvP game where you need rank to play against better players.

Full on aimbot in a co-op game. Unfathomably pathetic. Completely trivializing the game and ruining it for themselves and others. I don’t understand the incentive. It would utterly dissolve any interesting aspect of the game, and make it into a mundane brain dead walking simulator.

If you have more than 2 braincells connected by nerve tissue, there’s no way that this is entertaining enough to keep you playing. It would just completely ruin the game. Are they trying to skip the grind for cosmetics or something? I just don’t understand the mindset.

There’s not even the hack vs. hack thing going on. There’s no sadistic trolling of the enemy team. What’s the goal here?

I remember some discussion from a former cheater in other games that they never learned how to aim because of using cheats. So it’s like a skill they never picked up and thus become dependent on them to play anything.

I believe one reason for this type of player, that what they want is to win. Doesn’t care about the act of playing, failing, learning, only winning. Why? I don’t know, you’d have to ask them.

The absolute irony is that they put EAC into V2 due to the PvP mode that died out in like month yet it’s still there and causes connection times to be like 2-3x longer and here in DT we have more legal (and illegal cheats) because there is no mod sanction system like in VT2 and no realms and no anticheat.

Apparently, the Sharks will need ‘a little’ time again for internal discussions on how to resolve this issue. Well, let’s wait and see when hack the currency in the game, maybe will make a decision faster.

I think it’s likely just a power fantasy borne from insecurity, unfortunately.

No, it’s not enough. The game drastically needs a customizable buff indicators too. Just to explain what that means: in many builds you have a buff or two tracking the state of which is crucial to your play. For example, on one my vet build it’s Weapon Specialist stacks, I need to know when they exceed certain number, that’s when it’s most optimal to fire my range weapon. For any psyker build I also need a better indication of current Peril level, so I would like my crosshair to change color depending on how high it is.

So there needs to be system where you can place various new elements (small squares, circles, other primitives) near your crosshair that change color depending on various parameters - and also make it possible to change existing UI elements’ color too; that would allow you to set rules like “if BLESS_NAME is above 3 stacks, a yellow circle appears above your crosshair; if it goes over 7 stacks it changes color from yellow to red”. Or “add a halo effect to your crosshair when certain buff’s stacks are above that threshold”.

Those rules need to be set separately for each of your operatives, and you must be able to export and import them freely, also to share with others.
